Parts which are made by a manufacturer other than the one who originally made your car are referred to as "aftermarket (A/M)". Some aftermarket parts carry a certification that helps ensure the basic quality of the part. In most cases, aftermarket parts are less expensive than new OEM, and for some applications may be a better choice than used OEM parts.
I'm so grateful to Chester and the crew at Specialty Paint and Body. After a recent accident, my wheelchair accessible van was not operational enough for me to drive to an important family event. Finding a rental that I could drive was impossible. When Specialty Paint and Body learned about my situation, Chester worked diligently for three days to get it ready in time.

Josh was wonderful and I enjoyed the fact that you can receive updates via text message but the office manager Janice needs to work on her customer service. I did not like that she tried to argue with me about my car insurance policy and what’s covered and not covered. Every time I had to interact with her via phone, she was not pleasant until I picked my car up. Even then she still was trying to tell me misleading information about my car and insurance policy. Everything else was good minus Janice.

Ive had great service from them. My insurance company is dragging their feet but the folks here have kept me updated and benn patient with my questions. I have learned a lot about what has to happen in this type of business. I have a lot of trust in these folks.
Edit: Even though the car was a total loss, they were very helpful with the whole process. I ended up filing a complaint with my state insurance commission to get the insurance company to follow through. Again, these people did everything right to help resolve the whole thing!

Needed a repair shop after a kid ran into the back of my Ford Escape. Janice and Ricky were very helpful and pleasant through the entire process. They did a great job and got done sooner than estimated. I won't go anywhere else after this positive experience.

Posting this review because I read another post about being 'unable to verify' other reviews. I used Specialty Paint and Body after my brand new truck was backed into by a trailer in a parking lot. After working with them I am convinced this is the best paint and body shop in Athens, and certainly the best that I have ever worked with. During the inspection two employees took pictures and detailed notes regarding the different damage areas, right down to a nick on one of the wheels (which they had repaired/reconditioned as part of the scope of the work). I am extremely particular about my vehicles

We had a great experience with Specialty Paint & Body. They were very thorough in making sure our car was made as good as new and went above and beyond, customer service wise. Emails were promptly answered and they even took care of our rental needs right on site! They worked hard to make sure the repairs were as hassle free as a thing like that can be!

I came to Specialty Paint & Body because someone had scraped against my rear bumper. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable about what they do. I also got an estimate on another unrelated scrape on my vehicle and checked it with my brother who has several years experience in the paint and body field. They were spot on. My car looks like new now, the paint job matches the rest of my car perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be coming here from now on should any of my vehicles need it. My husband also totaled the front end of his car and they gave an honest estimate
