Dr. Yvonne Hansen is a clinical psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy, play therapy, group therapy, and family systems therapy. Dr. Heather Watson-Perez is a clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. She incorporates both cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theory in her psychotherapeutic approach.
All treatment begins with an initial intake assessment, where you and your therapist collaboratively decide on an appropriate treatment plan. At West Morris Psychological Associates, we know that access to mental health services can take time and realize how important it is to begin treatment in a timely way.
Individual therapy is specifically customized for each of our patients and can take many forms. At West Morris Psychological Associates, our treatment tends to be informed by cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), psychodynamic, and family systems therapies.
At West Morris Psychological Associates, we believe that a family-based treatment approach can play a crucial role in improving the overall health and functioning of each individual family member. Family Therapy at West Morris Psychological Associates includes a combination of cognitive behavioral and structural family therapy techniques.
This 10-week group provides parents of children with ADHD and other behavioral concerns (ages 2-12) with a supportive community to learn effective child behavior management skills and strategies. Throughout the course of the group, parents will learn to understand oppositional and noncompliant behaviors at home and at school and develop the tools to manage and reduce them.
