We are located high on a ridge with beautiful views surrounding the farm. We are located about 35 minutes from Bar Harbor and the Nova Scotia ferry, within sight are several beautiful lakes to enjoy water recreation and fishing. Nearby enjoy our lovely woods, or trails to hike the Schoodic Mountains.

In the winter, there are ponds for ice-skating, snowmobile trails nearby, and bountiful opportunities for cross-country skiing. The farmhouse dates back to about 1840 and the farm has been farmed for as long as anyone can remember. An Episcopal minister gave the name, originally Shalom Farm, back in the 1960's.
Services
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a community of people centered around a farm. CSA shareholders give the farm financial support in advance of the season, and in return the farm provides a weekly share of produce during the growing season. CSA reconnects people to the land that sustains them and builds rewarding relationships between the farmers and shareholders.
In 2002, we established a commercial winery featuring fruit and honey wines, produced from our own and other local organic fruits. We specialize in apple, blueberry and cranberry wines and smaller productions of raspberry, kiwi, and honey mead wines. Our wines have been very well reviewed and are available from our winery or in selected wine shops and natural food stores in Maine.
We invite you to come stay on our farm in a lovely, private apartment in the ell of the farmhouse. We rent the apartment on a weekly basis. You may participate in the farm activities or not, depending on your wishes. We are located about 30 minutes from Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park and about 25 minutes from the Schoodic Point part of Acadia National Park.

Very nice, small winery and the only one offering certified organic wines on the east coast! It is a very small business run out of the couples home, but you can tell that they put a lot of time and effort into their wines. The man (I unfortunately forget his name) was very kind and gave me a very informative tasting.

I hate to do this, bc this place has potential...but currently, it is....nothing? just some guy's basement, where he stands over you while you taste 2 wines, and then asks if you want to buy more...the wine itself was pretty good, but the setting was......uncomfortable to say the least. IMO this place should close and re-do/reevaluate bc it can be awesome.

Wine was good. We had to stay outside and the yard was very overgrown with trash all over the place. Did not seem sanitary.

Charlotte is a wonderful host. The pear wine is fabulous. Their prices for lamb are excellent. Do yourself a favor and make the trip.

Our visit to Shalom was delightful. Charlotte & Jim's quaint Winery is a hidden gem! We chatted with Charlotte while we tried their wines learning about their history and operation. It was a great way to spend the afternoon! We purchased a number of lamb cuts and a few bottles of wine to take home. Definitely take the time to stop by and enjoy the fruits of their hard work.

Their Lamb is phenomenal. Best I've ever had, better than any store bought lamb ever. Also their wines are excellent. I would definitely recommend!!

We stayed at Charlotte and Jim's for a night via harvesthost while traveling north, and had a fantastic tasting of Jim's creations. Organic mead, pear, apple and even kiwi wines that taste like what alcohol use to taste like before the liquor industry took over, served over friendly conversation in their beautiful farmhouse. Their winery tries to extract the true flavor of fruits into wines, and while it will certainly throw off the unprepared visitor, take it like a travel back to simpler, more honest, times and you'll get a sense of what your taste buds were like, long before sulfites, sugar

Great place! Very friendly people. My husband and I enjoyed all the wines we tasted. From the honey mead to the blueberry and pear wines. These wines are dry rather than sweet! We are really looking forward to trying there cider when its ready!!

There are a few ridiculous reviews here. This is a working farm with two people, not a Napa winery conglomerate. They make an excellent product on a farm free of chemicals. Those needing their hand held and pampering should check themselves. Enjoy the wine.

Stopped by the winery around 3pm on a Rainy Wednesday. Didn't see any open signs or obvious places to enter. So we left. We did purchase a 16 dollar bottle of their blueberry wine in Bar Harbor. It was so/So. Very alcohol forward and not a strong sense of blueberries. So overall...meh!
