TCA Counseling Group was founded by Dr. Tonn Q. Cao in 2011 on the philosophy that every individual should be treated with respect and integrity despite his or her background, identity or experiences. This is particularly true when they are at their most vulnerable as they seek counseling services.
We offer a safe refuge where individuals, couples and families are encouraged to explore their tribulations as they succeed at leading healthier and happier lives. By combining our specializations, our therapists can help our clients from many different perspectives and increase the chances of their success in meeting their treatment goals.

Services
A professional therapist can help you identify your problems and assist you in finding the best ways to cope with the situation by changing behaviors that contribute to the problem or by finding constructive ways to deal with a situation that is beyond your personal control. Our clinical team offers help through therapy in addressing many situations that cause emotional stress.
At your first appointment, your therapist will collect pertinent information about your history and reasons leading to your wanting to make changes. He or she will work with you to determine the best course of action for your treatment. What can I expect in a counseling session? A session usually lasts 45 minutes.
Life can be full of problems, anxieties, dead-end situations, or just feels emptied at times. During our individual therapy sessions, we can help you identify and understand your particular situation. Together, we can work on finding the courage to address your situation and initiate positive changes in your life.
We all know romantic relationships can be very rewarding, but difficult and life-altering. Like a delicate orchid, they require our constant attention and care. They take time and energy to cultivate. But, sometimes despite our best efforts, romantic relationships become a source of stress on us. We need a professional to give us an objective viewpoint so that we may begin to heal and move forward together, or separately.
LGBTQ individuals often feel alone in our experiences. We may have many of the same clinical and life issues as heterosexuals - depression, anxiety, grief, work stress, relationship and dating issues, etc. The difficulties these issues present are compounded by our gender or sexual identity. We feel as if we cannot talk about these issues, or that no one will understand or care.

They have a policy that they require health insurance information AND also your credit card information. If patients are fully covered by their health insurance and you already have that information on file along with a picture of insurance, why require credit card from patients? This is absolutely absurd and I decided to not go forward with them. The representative who schedules appointments basically told me that if I don’t provide my credit card information, They would have to cancel my initial appointment. This is quite disappointing and unheard of from a place that offers counseling services

I made an appointment with Hadar Lutman weeks ago and was called on the Friday before my Monday appointment telling me my billing information was incorrect because I had left off a number from my credit card information. Due to personal reasons I was unable to return the call until Monday during business hours. At which point I was told my appointment was cancelled. I received no call or email and, had I not reached out, would have never been told that my appointment was cancelled. I had uploaded ALL my forms but because they couldn’t get money from me they cancelled my appointment without warning

I'm a trans male. I don't generally post reviews but I saw a comment about TCA not being inclusive and had to post my experiences here because I don't want my LGBT brothers and sisters to be deterred from seeking help at TCA.
I was a patient at TCA throughout my transition and my therapist helped me throughout the entire process. The admin staff was always very respectful and friendly, and never judged me as I went through the difficult process of transitioning.
It sounded like Shaneese was having a bad day which can happen to all of us. I hope that my LGBT friends will not be deterred based

I was here a couple of years ago and found it very helpful. My therapist helped me to calm my anxious thought by doing some CBT. By the time I finished, I was able to look at situations in a different way so I no longer obsess over things. Each therapist is different, of course, but I found mine to be very helpful. Very professional and calming atmosphere overall.
