I'd have to lay awake in a hotel room for hours waiting for him to stir. But with a vacation rental, I'm up and about, making my coffee, enjoying the views, planning our day's explorations while watching the world wake. Egg Cottage note: Our assumption is that morning coffee is as important for our guests as it is for us.
In the beginning, there were 100 acres on this bluff purchased by a gentleman with the last name of Manney (likely William G. Manney, one of Egg Harbor's earliest settlers). He divided the acreage up with his children and one of the children was given our particular lot and apparently built this house.
Egg Harbor is a classic Door County village with restored historic buildings housing charming independent stores, local bakeries, a wonderful organic greengrocer, some of Door County's best and most popular restaurants, two breweries and a distillery. Experience coastal charm, complete with a state-of-the-art marina and one of the best sand beaches in Door County.

From the moment we walked in the front door it felt like home! This cottage is truly a gem! The breathtaking views over lake Michigan never grew old nor did the sunrises or sunsets!!!! No matter the weather or if you don't feel like sightseeing this cottage has everything you could possibly need or want to stay in and relax! Beautiful library of books, games, TV, screened in Gazebo, deck, chairs on the lawn...what more can I say it was home away from home for us! We will be back to enjoy it again and again.

The Egg Cottage was a wonderful getaway and absolutely charming! The views of the lake were breathtaking and the cottage itself, was so charming and cozy! The owners have really put a lot of thought into their property and it shows! Our stay was perfect because of the warmth and character of the house and all of the extra efforts from the owners. It was in the perfect location, walking distance to everything in the town and close to the surrounding nearby towns. The property was clean and inviting and we will definitely be back again!!

We had a fantastic week at Egg Cottage. Perfect amount of space, clean and well equipped, amazing views of the bay and sunsets, and can walk to all of the shops / restaurants in Egg Harbor. We also enjoyed using the grill, sitting areas in the spacious yard, and gazebo. The owners are incredibly helpful in terms of trip planning and answering any questions. We had high expectations and our stay was even better than anticipated! We definitely plan to visit again.

My sister and I took our mother here for her 81st birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this cottage. A main floor bedroom for our mother was a must and Egg Cottage had everything we could possibly need or want for cooking in if we chose to. The views are amazing..reminded us of our trip to St John - just stunning. The grounds are enchanting and so relaxing - it was just a beautiful experience.
The owners are so thoughtful and truly care for this cottage and the people who stay there. Definitely heading back in the future.

We just spent a beautiful 4 day weekend at Egg Cottage in Door County. The Cottage was absolutely beautiful with the owners thinking of every possible detail and making us feel at home. It is ideally located just a few minutes walk from downtown Egg Harbor, with beautiful lake views and sunsets. The decor is beautiful and the cottage is romantic and has true character and soul. The outside gazebo is ideal for breakfast and firepit for late evenings. The booking process was very simple and the hosts were very responsive, and have fantastic ideas and plans ready for cottage guests to explore Door

If you’re charmed by the pictures of Egg Cottage, you will not be disappointed! From the moment we walked in, the home felt warm and inviting. With 2020 being what it is, my husband and I were looking for a getaway where we could enjoy our accommodations as part of the vacation experience itself. Both indoors and out, you will find beautiful views and cozy spots to read a book, play a game, or just relax. The cottage was perfect for my husband and I while in Door County for a long weekend! It is extremely clean and the hosts have thought of everything - bathroom amenities, pots and pans, several basic cooking spices, WIFI and a fire pit in the back. The view is probably the most impressive part of the whole cottage as well! Gorgeous sunsets on the lake with plenty of seating and a gazebo to enjoy it from. The hosts are incredibly professional and responsive as well - we had no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend Egg Cottage for couples or a pair of friends that want a peaceful weekend up in Door

I normally don't write reviews for places my husband and I stay, but I just had to for this cottage because it is so amazing! Actually, out of pure selfishness I wasn't going to review it because I feared once people saw how wonderful it is, I would have a difficult time finding an opening for a reservation for myself. However, since the hosts are so accommodating, friendly and sweet, I felt compelled to write my first vacation place review ever. I have to say this was the most relaxing vacation I have had.
