Founder Donna Raibley, a Caregiver in her own community, was aware that Caregivers were in need of hope and support, while they tirelessly cared for their Loved Ones at home. The Mission of One Source - Empowering Caregivers is to improve quality of life for Caregivers and their loved ones by providing cost-free, non-medical support while they remain at home in a safe and healthy environment.
At One Source - Empowering Caregivers we envision Caregivers and their loved ones receiving cost free respite care while they remain at home.

Did you know that there are four million family caregivers in California. Almost 25% of family caregivers caring for a loved one report their health is fair to poor. Nearly 50% of these caregivers are dealing with symptoms of mild to moderate depression. Over sixty percent report Anxiety or Depression in the past year.*
A market analysis of Nevada County shows a large demographic population of 65 and older at 23.4%, almost double the California average of 12.9%, or the national average of 14.5%. This means that 1 out of every 4 individuals in Nevada County are 65 and over. About 65.7 million people in the United States (one in four adults) were unpaid family caregivers to an adult or child in 2009.
One Source - Empowering Caregivers is a nonprofit organization that provides respite care for caregivers, at no cost. We are conducting a survey to gain perspective about the stresses and concerns that caregivers face. Your participation may lead to OSEC's outreach program CARES (Community Awareness Resource Educational Series) enhancements.
When we are caring for a loved one sometimes it can be difficult to tell the difference between memory loss, age-related changes or more serious signs of Alzheimer's or dementia. It can be a very challenging time when you are dealing with the emotional and/or physical health issues of a loved one you are caring for.
Caring for others can be very rewarding and yet at the same time our own needs can be unmet. Compassion fatigue can have an effect on the quality of the Caregivers lives and the lives of our Loved Ones around us. Addictive or compulsive behaviors (overeating, sexual acting out, overspending, gambling, excessive computer, phone or video gaming).
