Sea-Side Dive Shop has been servicing the Detroit Metro Area for over 35 years under the continuous ownership of Paul Skoglund. We have equipment to meet the needs of everyone in your family - from the young to the young at heart. Paul Skoglund has been diving since 1965 and instructing since 1967, first with the Michigan Divers Association and then with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) in 1971.
As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center (IDC) we can provide scuba instruction for the beginner diver all the way through to becoming a PADI i nstructor. Confined Open Water - The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
Dry Suit Specialty - Before jumping into the water with that new suit you should learn the proper techniques. In the Dry Suit Diver class you will cover the background knowledge related to dry suit diving and you will get into confined water to put that theory into practice.

Then, once you've mastered confined water, it's time for two open water dives and applying that knowledge, including dive planning, organization, techniques, problems and buoyancy control.Buy your suit from Sea-Side and the cost of this class is FREE.
The exterior laminate is made of an advanced synthetic nylon/Lycra(R) blend. The laminate must support the internal neoprene core in order to provide the optimum stretch. If the exterior laminate stretches too much, the neoprene core will fracture; not enough stretch, and the wetsuit will feel stiff and uncomfortable.

Got certified for my open water from here some years ago. Great experience. Love diving now. Got all my gear here like 15 years ago and it all is holding up just fine.

As a brand new diver with no previous experience or really any information about diving, I can say that I feel completely comfortable and secure while being in the water! So far I’ve completed my open water certification, and looking into going further. My instructor was Scuba Steve, who was extremely thorough in the classroom, confined dives, and open water dives. Although there is a lot of information at first to learn- I actually feel like I’ve learned it! That was a huge plus. Sea Side itself was very flexible with my schedule and offered a few different options. They were honest about

I started going here after moving to Saint Clair Shores. Very nice little shop and I really like the service I get here, and they also have great hours 6 days a week for those of us that work a lot. I like the way they always give my tanks a good fill 😊. Stop in and see some of the cool stuff on display that came out of the St Clair river , a great place to dive right in our back yard that I was introduced to through this shop . Full service dive shop in the shores , support your local dive shop and stop in and see them.
