Erin's Meadow Herb Farm began as a weekend business for Kathleen (Kathy) Erin Burke-Mihalczo and husband John T. Mihalczo Jr. Twelve acres of land located just outside the city of Oak Ridge, Tennessee turned into a home based business selling fresh cut herbs at local farmers markets. Cold frames grew into three greenhouses, and herbal display gardens were built over the first five years.
Greenhouse plant production produced thousands of herbs, some varieties rarely seen for sale at the time. Herbal education programs were held outside in the gardens under a tent and brought gardeners and cooks alike to the herb farm, eager to learn herb growing methods and culinary techniques. Interest in plant based medicine resurfaced and Erin's Meadow Herb Farm became a local source for herbal medicine makers.

I visited the herb farm in early summer for the first time. This place was amazing!! It was like a little slice of heaven right in East Tennessee! Customer service was excellent and I was able to get several medicinal herbs for my garden (some difficult to find elsewhere), not to mention a couple of vegetables. Prices were very reasonable, also. I can't wait to go back in the spring.

I love this place. It has a welcoming,, homey feel unlike any big garden store I've ever been to. Plus, they always have plants I've never found anywhere else. Instead of one kind of sage there are- no joke- nine here... and that's just right now, at the start of the growing season in March. New varieties are always being added through the season! They have more than just herbs, too! When I visited, they had gorgeous succulents, vibrant annuals, and cute starters for pollinators like bee balms. The staff is also extremely friendly and more than happy to help out... without being pushy. :)

Today was my first visit and I fell in love with the place. Not just the business itself but the property, the way its landscaped and how its off the beaten path and so tranquil. It's not on a main road and using Google maps is the easiest way to find it. It took 15 mins from oak ridge and even if you are farther away it's worth the drive. When you pull up, you see the entrance to the shop but don't even realize that there are greenhouses, outdoor herb garden and beautifully decorated grounds, woods and a truly inviting area behind the store front. The store is so clean as is the property and greenhouses
