Rita Marcus began her career managing broadcast publicity at The Macmillan Company. She has been in her own business for more than 25 years. While her primary focus has been in the world of publishing, representing hundreds of authors, she has also done extensive work in both non-profit and corporate P.R. and media training.
She has worked with publishing superstars ranging from Shere Hite to Al Franken, and has planned media events with Barbara Bush and Liz Smith, to name a few. She has served as a public relations consultant to Judith Heumann, the former Assistant Secretary of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services under the Clinton administration.
