Rice Packaging founder, William A. Rice, became involved in a safety inspection program for General Motors early in his career while selling office equipment. He was intrigued with the metal edged boxes used to house the nuts and bolts because they were readily consumed, not stored, and were able to be reused as office equipment.

Rice packaging is an amazing company to work for. My fellow employees are wonderful to work with. I love going to work each day.
One of my fondest memories is that the boss had been away for awhile. Instead of running away, everyone ran out to greet him and say hi. He cares about all of his employees. I knew that day if more people were like Mr. Rice, the world would be a better place.
