Congressional Iron Works
Established in 2004, Congressional Iron Works is a full service miscellaneous metals contractor to the commercial construction industry in the greater Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Our full service capabilities include value-added estimating, drafting, project management, fabrication, finishing and installation/erection.

Our work includes all of the major steel and architectural metals construction components and systems such as structures, stairs, canopies, rails, fences and gates. Congressional Iron Works' GC clientele are among the top names in the commercial construction industry nationwide. We operate out of a 25,000sf facility in Frederick, MD which is home to our offices and fabrication shop.
Services
Our whole process begins with Estimating where we pour over the voluminous and complex architectural drawings of entire project to isolate exactly our content. Based on our reading of the drawings, we compile a bill of materials which we send out for bid, estimate the shop labor required to fabricate the materials, and estimate the labor required to install the fabricated material.
Once a job has been awarded, our well-staffed, experienced and highly trained drafting department must take the architectural plans and create fabrication drawings from which our shop will build the various pieces to be installed at the job site. This is an iterative process, requiring field measurements and customer review and approval.
Our field crews take delivery, then erect and install our fabricated components at the construction site as specified by the project drawings and plans. This operation requires many specialized tools and involves precision measuring, cutting, welding and grinding. It takes special skills and attention to safely move and secure the heavy steel components, often in precarious or awkward locations.
Each job is assigned to a Project Manager who directs Congressional Iron Works' efforts among the hundreds of different activities that take place on the average day at any construction site. Our Project Management is responsible for coordinating the customer's schedule with our in-house resources, as well as managing the technical details between the field and our fabrication team.

If you see one of their trucks on the highway, give it a wide girth. They will drive like maniacs and cut you off without a second thought
