Northview Associates is North Georgia's recognized provider of extraordinary care for orthopaedic and sports-related conditions and injuries. We are committed to delivering prompt physician-directed orthopaedic care, from initial evaluation, diagnostic imaging and non-surgical or surgical treatments.
Northview Associates has provided quality orthopedic care to the residents of Lumpkin, Dawson, White, North Hall, North Forsyth, and Union counties since 1992. Dr. Alan Binkley offers comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for a spectrum of orthopedic injuries and conditions. With our on-site MRI and diagnostic imaging and our own outpatient surgery center, patients receive complete care under one roof, right in your own community.
Arthroscopic surgery, also called arthroscopy, is a procedure that allows surgeons to see, diagnose, and treat problems inside a joint. An arthroscopy requires only small incisions and is guided by a miniature-viewing instrument. Before arthroscopy existed, surgeons made large incisions that affected the surrounding joint structures and tissues.
With state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services, and the accredited ambulatory surgical center, Northview Associates is Georgia's leader in diagnosing and treating work-related injuries. If you've been injured on the job, you'll find extraordinary orthopedic care right here at Northview Associates; there is no reason to travel away from home! Visit us in Dahlonega, or Blairsville, Georgia.

Dr. Binkley's training is in general orthopedics, which focuses on joints like knees and hips, not spinal conditions. Yet, he performs epidural steroid injections at his surgery center without any formalized training on how to do these procedures. This is like going to a dermatologist to get a brain tumor removed. If you need a spinal procedure done in a safe manner and actual want it to work, go to an interventional pain doctor, not this guy.

I hurt my shoulder at work. The first time I saw Dr.Binkley I asked him shoulder injury could be effecting my wrist, ring and pinky… which yes it can. He told me straight to my face “no. There’s no way a shoulder injury can affect your hand in any way. I later got an mri and on the follow up visit to get my MRI copy and Results, he walked in to the room I was in said “your results came back almost completely normal” keep in mind that when he walked in I was in tears because of how much pain I was in. I asked what was wrong and he then said again “your results are almost completely normal

I am a little baffled by the negative reviews posted here. I went to Dr. Binkley to have him examine an injured knee. I found both him and his staff professional, likable, and easy to deal with.
I arrived on time and had to fill out the usual paperwork. Everyone saw me promptly. I had x-rays taken and the doctor saw me, and I was in and out in about an hour.
I don't doubt that others have had a bad experience for one reason or another, but I felt I should post this because I had nothing but a positive experience there.

Having surgery and recovering after rupturing my Achilles was an experience I don’t wish for anyone. It challenged me physically, mentally and emotionally. I discovered I had cast claustrophobia which almost pushed me into a realm in my mind I had no control over. Through the entire experience from initial office visit, surgery, follow-up appointments, physical therapy and the visit when I was released I received excellent care from Dr. Binkley and his excellent office staff. I don’t consider myself as a “good patient “. I felt moody and negative with anxiety on top. Calling the nurses

My father is (was) a patient. Listen to the warnings of all the other reviews posted, they are EXTREMELY accurate. We have experienced the WORST that healthcare has to offer at this practice. As a nurse I have a pretty good idea of surgical clearance requirements and I am astonished at the lack of guidelines this office has in regard to patient safety and recovery. If you call and leave a message for a call back ...you can expect to wait days, if it’s your MRI results, again you can expect to wait days and STILL you will have to chase the office staff down. Rude, condescending and lacking medical

I really don’t like to write a poor review, because there is so much complaining these days. However my experience was so distasteful that I’d like to save others the experience.
After waiting for close to an hour I got MAYBE 2 minutes of the Dr.’s disinterested time. During which he didn’t even look me in the eyes enough to recognize that I had a face covering, so asked me to, “put my mask on”.
I only got a short disinterested commentary on my injury, a referral for Physical Therapy, and a script for pain pills.
I DO NOT want to simply “pain pill” my pain away.
I want relief

I have been a patient at Northview Orthpaedics for more than 10 years. I have had extremely professional ortho care through 4 surgeries and multiple x-rays, injections and mri's. I have never had anything but professional, caring nursing, front office and billing office interactions. As a medical practice office manager, I expect quality care and excellent support staff and have always received that level of care. As a Fulton County resident, I still choose to drive to Dahlonega for care from Dr. Binkley and staff.

My wife's visit to this facility is an exact replication of the remark Mr. Benjamin Young made, earlier.
Despite Medicare A and B, Secondary with BC/BS they demanded a payment in advance of treatment. The payment was called a co-payment. We have no co-payments with our coverage!
I have filed a complaint with my Bank placing the payment in dispute, I have filled a complaint with BC/BS. I have asked my Doctor to stop referring patients to Northwest Orthopedics because of this issue.
These people are intentionally and with full knowledge of the deceit involved demanding money not due. Their contract

Shady billing practices! They try to maximize how many times they can bill you and your insurance. For example, They separate your back into 3 different sections, requiring 3 plus different office visits/bills for one issue. They try to put you under for a simple cortisone shot, which I was told by another doctor is malpractice and done to charge your insurance more. Doctor is horrible, no bedside manner, barely examines you and rushes out of the office. I recommend you take your business somewhere else, anywhere else!

Co-pay hogs.....All told this place did nothing to treat me, just kept having me come back for diagnostics, MRI machine was supposedly unavailable and to come back in a week, then come back for the findings etc. I paid 600.00 in co-pays plus they billed the insurance company, I
also paid for x-rays in Gainesville, what sort of orthopedic office doesn't have x-ray? They may be good doctors , I wouldn't know since I was never treated, but I do know that they can work the system and the patients. I do feel good about contributing to the convertible Mercedes the doctor was driving.

They robbed me for $400 and told me my thumb was NOT broken even though the x-rays I brought in showed separation. After leaving in pain with a little splint and 3 doctors later all telling me my thumb was broken, I had it set and felt a million times better. I was told the thumb was out of its natural position by three other doctors and a real cast was put on. I was much relieved to have an important finger fixed for real and extremely disappointed in the orthopedic surgeons at Northview Associates for neither detecting the problem nor correcting it properly. They refused to admit they were
