I scheduled round trip transportation with A-1 Airport Cars. On my ride to the airport, they were fantastic - showed up right on time at 6:30 am and I had a safe and pleasant ride to the airport - the fare was $69 + tip. However hours before I was set to land coming home, they text messaged me that my fare would increase from $69 to $99 since none of their drivers wanted to be at the airport for my flight. When I called to ask why they told me they didn't need any customers that didn't want to pay extra at the last minute.

I booked A-1 to pickup and transport our daughter from DTW back to U of M after the Thanksgiving break. Our daughter was flying solo for the first time, and A-1 was on time and was highly visible in the baggage claim to make it easy for her to meet the driver. On the drive back to school, a reckless driver was speeding in the snowstorm, spun out on I-94, and hit the A-1 car with our daughter in it. The collision was entirely the fault of the reckless driver, with ABSOLUTELY NO FAULT OR BLAME ON THE A-1 DRIVER. Our daughter was shaken and freaked out about the collision, and instantly called

Used A-1 Airport Cars for the first time for early morning transportation to Metro Airport, Confirmed a few days before. The are very reasonably priced and arrived right on time. Spotless SUV and the driver was alert, safety conscious very pleasant. I will make A-1 my permanent transportation service and highly recommend them to anyone in Oakland county.

We were traveling to Ann Arbor for my nephew's graduation. Unfortunately, I was put in a cast for a broken ankle (and in a wheelchair) about three weeks prior to the trip. A-1 was absolutely amazing, professional and made the trip SO much easier. We were met at the airport, our bags taken care of, and the trip was easy. We have used A-1 for years and have been very happy with this locally-owned business. The drivers are always on-time and very courteous. We like that we can reserve online and we receive confirmation emails with complete information. They track our flights so if our flight is delayed, they know to adjust the time to pick us up at the baggage claim. Cars are very comfortable and clean.

2. They are already overpriced, I live 10 minutes from the airport, they charged my $35. I did not have time to look for alternatives so I booked them. Then on arrival to the airport, I paid the $35 but the driver insisted on getting a tip from me!! I did not have any change left and had to search a lot before finding a $5 bill to give him, and seems that he did not like and told me the tip must be 20% which is $7 not $5!!
NOT recommended to anyone and definitely not using this service again.

1. Can this company hire someone who could speak English or at least they can understand a little bit English? My driver can't understand me at all.

First time using a car service from DTW - Ali my driver was very professional, knew all the details of my flight and, most importantly, showed up right when I landed despite a 4 hour flight delay. Clean, comfortable car, great price.

After picking me up, late, my driver wanted to argue with me about the address. I explained that on the sign it has a range of addresses (105 - 135), as it is a strip of small businesses. I am pretty sure she did not understand what I was saying. I would love to say I enjoyed the ride, but the driver stank of cigarettes and she drove and spoke like she was high on something. She kept checking her cell phone (rush hour, I94). Most exciting part of the drive? When she had to slam her brakes on to avoid hitting the car in front of us. I have started using A-1 Airport Cars exclusively for my private car service needs to and from Metro Airport. The cars are immaculate, the drivers are very punctual, and their rates are very competitive. Most of my use is for business travel, but I recently used them for a personal trip. My husband has mobility issues and we were very concerned to find that they aren't allowed to pick us up at the curb outside baggage claim. We had a great experience with A1 last night. Our flight was arriving past midnight and we needed a ride from DTW to Ann Arbor for six passengers and 6-7 large bags plus a few carryons. They sent in an Escalade which accommodated everyone and everything comfortably. The driver, Ali, arrived 15 mins prior to flight arrival and kept in touch with me via text messages till we met. He was polite and courteous and the overall experience was very pleasant.
