The Retreat at Eden Isle is a luxury vacation rental home on Eden Isle, a 400 acre resort surrounded by Greers Ferry Lake in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains just 4 miles from Heber Springs, Arkansas. Built in 1965 as one of Eden Isle's first "vacation villas, " the Retreat has been lovingly restored and updated with respect for its 1960s roots and architecture.
The Retreat's living area is complemented by a a coffee table that was hand-crafted from locally sourced and repurposed crib wood. A massive natural cedar beam serves as the mantle for the Retreat's wood-burning fireplace. The Retreat features an open layout. The Retreat's kitchen table and granite bar can provide seating for 14.

My husband, Jeff, and I spent our first anniversary at Eden Isle's Red Apple Inn in 1984. We returned often over the years for weekend vacations with friends and our growing family. In August of 2017, while spending a weekend at Eden Isle, we noticed that one of Eden Isle's original "vacation villas" was for sale.
Eden Isle was developed in the early 1960s by Herbert L. Thomas, Senior. Eden Isle was developed on a 500 acre tract that Mr. Thomas purchased from the Estes family. After Greer's Ferry Dam was completed and Greer's Ferry Lake was formed, the 500 acre tract (which is surrounded by Greers Ferry Lake) was reduced to 400 acres.
Collins Creek is part of JFK Park, located just below Greers Ferry Dam. The creek makes a beautiful natural backdrop for family photos, engagement pictures, and other special occasions. It's probably the most photographed venue in Heber Springs and the perfect place to memorialize a great family vacation.
We are big fans of online travel agencies ("OTAs") like Airbnb, VRBO, TripAdvisor, FlipKey and others and most of our vacation renters come from these sites. These OTAs smooth the process between vacation rental home owners and vacation home renters, but they do so at a significant cost. OTAs like Airbnb and VRBO charge travelers additional service fees and commissions to book a vacation rental on their sites.
