As members of the Mission College Prep community, we are called to live according to a pattern of love and service modeled by Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ, we believe that we are all brothers and sisters and that much of the injustice in the world would be extinguished if more people acted on this principle.
Mission College Prep creates a culture of care and accountability in partnership with families to form women and men of scholarship, inspiration, and leadership in service to deeper life with God and deeper life with one another. Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a co-ed Catholic college-preparatory, secondary school in the Diocese of Monterey, striving to be an extension of family and church.
Christian education is intended to "make men's faith become living, conscious, and active, through the light of instruction." A Catholic school is a unique setting within which this ideal can be realized in the lives of Catholic children and young people. It is in such a school that they experience learning and living fully integrated in the light of faith.
Located on MCP's current site, the Academy of the Immaculate Heart offered both elementary and secondary education. In 1924, under the guidance of Reverend Daniel Keenan who was the newly appointed pastor of Mission San Luis and Diocesan Superintendent of Education, plans were made to erect a new parochial secondary and grammar school.
Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a ministry of the Diocese of Monterey with a total commitment to partnering with our families in the formation of the children within our care. An MCP education aims to ignite the growth of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. What has always set our school apart is how we are committed to keeping it a true community.
