Welcome to Camp Rio Vista for Boys and Camp Sierra Vista for Girls in the Texas Hill Country, between Hunt and Ingram. We are two separate summer camps with one purpose - to provide a safe, wholesome, fun-filled learning experience to every boy and girl, ages 6 to 16. Every day we make decisions that impact our children.
Do you want your children to develop self-reliance and independence? The best way for children to grow in these areas is to give them the opportunity to experience those things firsthand. Allowing your child to experience life without the distractions of technology, social media, and video games is the first step towards discovering who they really are.

Services
Today's children are struggling to form real, meaningful relationships. Kids are so caught up in the too-perfect lives they see online that it's becoming increasingly difficult for them to figure out their true identity. Diane & I want our children to spend their summers outdoors having fun with their friends!.
Sign up your Vista baby today! If you have a child that is under the age of five, you can reserve a spot for their first summer. Some children aren't sure if they're ready to commit to two weeks away from home, especially if it is their first year. Campers ages 6-12 have the option of signing up for the 1st half of a term (the A term), and then choosing if they want to stay for the second half (the B term).
What I've Learned at Vista: "Being screen-free can be a good thing & camp friends are forever friends!". Hobbies: Running triathlons, chatting with her friends, and earning badges with her Girl Scout troop. Maybe you just like having a great time with friends and want to be accepted for who you are.
Pick 5 activities for Monday, Wednesday and Friday and another 5 for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. That's 10 exciting activities every week, with over 40 to choose from! There's no time to be bored at our summer camps! Take a dip in the Guadalupe! Our waterfront consists of; a rope swing, blob, water trampoline, 130-foot water slide, beach area and roped off swimming areas.
Vista Camps is an all-inclusive camp, with the only mandatory added expense being the camp uniform (worn on Sundays to Chapel, Vespers, Picture day, Special Ceremonies, and closing day). You may choose to set up a store account for your child, but that is optional. All activity supplies (no charge for bullets in riflery or arts and crafts supplies, etc.).

My husband attended Rio Vista back in the early 1980s and now my 3 kids attend Rio Vista and Sierra Vista. The wonderful memories they have made at camp are priceless. It's their home away from home and where they have had some of their happiest moments. They are always sad to leave and can't wait to go back next summer. The directors and counselors are amazing and care so much for each camper. They give their all to make sure each camper has a great experience. Friendships, independence, growth, fun, service, hard work, leadership and teamwork are just a few words to describe why we are grateful

This is our third year sending our girls to Sierra Vista. Every year when we pick them up from camp, they give us the biggest hug and say “thank you for giving us the best gift two parents could give!”
As parents, we love Sierra Vista for many reasons. The biggest draw to the camp, besides the fact it is Christian, is the culture. It is not a day spa in the hill country. It is camp like what you see in the movies. They get dirty, do new things and just get to be a kid. It’s the best!

We love this place. With plans to make this our son's home away from home during summers. Nat is an amazing person and we love him for all he has done for our son. In the short time with his Rio Vista family his confidence went from questioning himself to believing in himself. We only did the week term and then our son got strep and had to come home. Or son fights with strep so it wasn't nothing they did. He was such a sad boy on the way home. But we are planning for 2 weeks this coming year ..

I was a Rio Vista camper here for diabetic camp in August 1984. It was a life changing experience for me. The Hawkins family were great hosts. The best thing to see was Mr. Hawkins had to do a double shot on both his legs because all campers in dining hall did a routine right. The fact that all counselors and directors did needle sticks to know what we went through daily made them easily relatable to us campers. Those were good times back then. Looks like the place has continually gotten better as the years went by. Have only GOOD things to say about this place 😁

Went in childhood for one month and HATED every waking minute. I was pushed into the River for NO reason what-so-ever and the kid laughed at me about it!!! And because I'm a coward I didn't confront him ! Also the place has NO AC. They don't like that bill. Many more Negative things to share upon your asking. Cell. (318) 294-6464

As a kid - summer camp at Sierra Vista could not come fast enough. I dreamt of it all year long. I was excited to see friends each summer that I had stayed connected with through the school year. I made some of my best childhood memories at Vista! As an adult, I just dropped off my 8 year old son at Rio Vista. I was giddy with excitement waiting at the gaits for the Vista staff to let us in!!! Once we got my son all settled, I was sad because I really wanted to stay, too!! Ha! Its a magical place. The staff is wonderful and treat your kids like their own! I can't wait to go back with my son every

I get jealous of my daughter when we drop her off at this amazing camp. We were convinced last year to send her as an 11 year old and she is attending again this year. She loved her first experience and we know it is only going to keep getting better. So many activities to choose from, amazing counsellors and staff, beautiful setting in the outdoors, lifetime friendships, and a tradition-filled environment are all things that make this place great. We can't say enough good things about Sierra Vista. Our girl chose things like water skiing and other activities she has never done before and loved

A good friend in our neighborhood referred us to Vista Camps last year and our daughter had her first experience at an overnight summer camp. She. Loved. It. Two weeks of bliss. They let the kids pick their activities at the beginning of the term. She tried new things, like water skiing, that she would never really have a opportunity to try out at home. She rides horses where we live so naturally she wanted to sign up for horseback. She had an amazing experience crossing the Guadalupe while on her horse. They have so many activities, sports, events, etc. that a kid could never get bored

What a great experience! My whole family went to Family Weekend last year and then my daughter (10) went for a week during the summer. It exceeded all our expectations! The staff really does take care of your kids like they were their own, a mother's dream come true. It's a week-long extravaganza of good old-fashioned, outdoor fun (shaving cream slip-n-slides....I'm just saying)! Very positive, encouraging environment where kids can just be kids and enjoy themselves. We really do feel like we've been adopted into the Vista Family. If you're looking for a great summer camp for your kids, you should

Both of my kids have gone to Vista Camps for the past two summers and had a blast. They can't wait to go back! We did a ton of research on camps and kept hearing great things about Vista. It's in a gorgeous setting, has tons of history and the owners genuinely care about the campers and develop relationships with them. We are pretty protective of our kids and this feels like a safe place for them. We have close family friends whose daughter was a camper for years and then a counselor. They credit her summers at Vista with helping her become a strong, independent person. Plus it's basically nonstop

Worked here back in '04 and it still is probably the best summer I'd ever had. Made some great friends and was able to teach youngsters about: kayaking, canoeing, guitar, sailing, archery, and basic camping guidelines. You will thoroughly enjoy sending your kids here, male or female. As a lifeguard, we were responsible for any water activity which included: swimming, rope-swinging, The bullet (one-chute water slide), and the Blob. (A big-ol air bouncy tarp)
