Services
The catalyst for the creation of SHADE Industries originated in 1994, when founder Patrick Howe was working for a company that specialized in shade awnings. In the early 2000s, he decided to try something different and formed his own company, Shade Central, to focus on shade sails. Not long after, Conrad Masterson, our current President, started working with Howe.
We specialize in providing shade when and where the shade is desired. Identifying a specific shade goal at the beginning of the conversation allows us to design a shade structure that will produce beneficial shade coverage. 3D models of proposed designs are built utilizing SketchUp (among other powerful modeling programs) that allow a project to be geographically located and produce accurate shade studies rendered any time of the day and/or year.
Whether it be a new commercial building or a custom residential remodel, our design team will help you plan and integrate the highest quality, functional shade structures that provide a unique architectural element to any outdoor (or indoor) space. Assistance with integrating a unique shade structure with existing or planned landscape elements.
SHADE Industries has been awarded sub-contracts from some of the most prominent General Contractors in the United States. Our focus on timelines, budget, and jobsite safety allows us to complete quality custom tension fabric shade structure projects efficiently and proficiently. Plan sets and calculations, sealed by a Professional Registered Engineer (available in all 50 states plus D.C.).

SHADE installed two pool shades for our HOA community. The experience from the start to installation was seamless. The City of Phoenix decided to raise some issues on the placement of the shades. SHADES addressed the issue by submitting a variance accompanied by drawings and a video demonstrating that the shades were operating as per the specifications which were within the permit guidelines. And the variance was approved without any changes. Very impressive company, products, service and team!

I called to get estimate for a small patio. I saw on FB where they had done some shade for a community garden on 19th ave and I thought that was nice and I believe it was donated so I told the man who answered how nice and then he said he knew nothing about that project and a 12x12 patio would start at $5000. He was so rude and condescending. Even if I had money I would not shop here. To his credit he did tell me try Home Depot or Amazon.

I called about a project that I am working on. Looking for a shade solution for my home courtyard. When I was speaking with the gentleman on the phone, his first response to explaining what I am looking for is "Just so you know, just the fabrication of the shades alone is going to start in the $6,000 ballpark range and go up from there". This is absolutely not the way to create trust or even show interest in selling to a customer. Working in sales, I hung up the phone thinking he was very clear that he basically did not even try to gain my business...

Top notch company!!! I cannot say enough as to how happy we are with Shade Industries. Every employee was a pleasure to work with. Sales, team leads, install crews, etc. All work was executed in a very professional manor. All materials that were used are excellent. Our residential project has the strength and longevity of a commercial grade install. Which is absolutely perfect.
