I live in a Victorian home, built in 1883, in Ocean Grove. The home was restored in 2007 and the original floor was kept. By 2020, it was sagging in sections, but the underpinning of the floor was this antique method of little hooks that just didn't work and no one knew how to handle. There also is no subfloor. The surface of the floor had large chunks missing and the finish was uneven. We tried numerous repair people. Many didn't know what to do with it, yet wanted to charge exorbitant amounts. Others just wanted to rip it out. Antique Floors gave us a reasonable estimate and adhered to that estimate
