It is your right to be treated by the orthopedist you prefer. You can tell the emergency personnel to refer you to me or, if needed, call me while you are in the ER so that you can be treated in the best manner possible. For follow up visits, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to allow for updates to your health history, and allow time to confirm your insurance coverage and pharmacy.
Total joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which parts of the joint that have been damaged due to arthritis or injury is removed and replaced with a metal, plastic or ceramic device called a prosthesis. Superior capsular reconstruction is used when patients have massive unrepairable tears in their rotator cuff and is alternative to reverse total shoulder arthroplassty that preserves their own joint. Arthroscopic labral repair is a common procedure for pain and instability from a torn labrum. For the elbow, synovectomy, chondroplasty, and loose body removal and even a biceps tendon rupture may be repaired with minimal incision.
Joint cartilage problems and tendon as well as ligament tears can be helped with treatment using your own stem cells and platelet rich plasma. Either blood is drawn from your arm or bone marrow aspirated from your hip and processed with the Arthrex Angel device before being injected into your affected joint or tissue.
