We exist to provide compassionate and comprehensive primary care to the entire Kodiak community. Kodiak Community Health Center earned the Alaska Primary Care Quality Excellence Award for 2018. KCHC is recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

A community health center is a non-profit, community-owned health care provider offering services to all citizens, including those with low income levels and/or are medically under-served. KCHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center, and a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
What do we mean by "Patient Centered"? We mean our practice is built around you and your needs. Picture yourself and your provider as the hub of a wheel, in partnership to maximize your health and well-being. The spokes, then, are any specialists, your hospital, your insurance company, your pharmacy, and all your other healthcare and medical needs.

The Federally Supported Health Centers Assistance Act of 1992 and 1995 granted medical malpractice liability protection through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) to HRSA-supported health centers.
We bill all insurance plans and are an in-network provider/PPO for many plans (see the list below). If you don't have insurance, no need to worry-we can help! No one will be denied services based on inability to pay. There are millions of Americans without health insurance or are under-insured for a variety of reasons.
