Furniture manufacturers make hundreds if not thousands of the same piece and buy their lumber by the trainload.

Arched doors and transoms can be fun if you like bending. I will go into the joys of bending wood at another time. It is not only the transom but the glass and door stop are curved as well and all with different radii. This results in a rather expensive door no matter what it's made of. If cost is an object avoid curves if possible.

We have an antique Victorian, heavily carved walnut bedroom set. We used the double sized headboard with our queen bed for years but recently got a king bed. We asked John if he could modify the old headboard to fit our king bed. It needed 10 inches on each side and we wanted it to sit 16 inches higher. He also had to match the color of the existing wood. Well, he just delivered the finished project. Wow!! Amazing! He did an absolutely fantastic job! The color is perfect! John really is a "Wizard"!!
