Services
All new services include two sessions, the second session will be scheduled at least 6 weeks after your initial session, but no more than 90 days after your initial session. Payment can be made in full or as scheduled. Eyebrows make such a difference to the balance of our faces. Small changes can make a world of difference.
Our Highspire studio is located between the local post office and a Subway restaurant on Route 230 in Highspire Pa. We are directly across the street from Champions Sports Bar. Highspire is located along the river between Middletown and Steelton, and is about 10 miles south of Harrisburg. This location was the first 717 Tattoo studio.
We opened the Harrisburg studio in May of 2008. This location had been a tattoo studio off and on since the 90s, and we were glad to renovate it and maintain the location as a place to get tattoos and piercings. Parking is a bit tight at this studio, although there is plenty of street parking along the side of the shop.
We opened the Mechanicsburg studio in April of 2011. We had several talented artists and piercers asking for steady work, and no place to offer as a home. So we opted for a new location. The Mechanicsburg studio is located on the Carlisle Pike in the plaza next to Super Shoes. We are the storefront next to Palumbo Pizza.
First, if you aren't 18 and a high school graduate, put off tattooing until after High school. Take those years to draw everyday and figure who you are artistically and what artistic style best describes you and your comfort zone. After high school is out of the way, enroll in a few college-level art classes.

I have gone to 717 Mechanicsburg about a million times now, i have gotten multitudes of piercings from Gep who is amazing!!! always is super quick, caring, and makes it as easy and painless as possible!
Now i have gotten 5 tattoos as of now all from Chris who is absolutely amazing!!! He takes exactly what i want and makes it 1000x better than what i originally wanted. He’s super clean, professional, and makes sure that you’re okay through all of it! I have seen chris 4 times since Halloween of this year and i will continue to go back!!

Right before I went to school I wanted a tattoo. I talk to Chris and made my deposit for him to draw my drawling a little better, and he said no problem. 2 days before my appointment, he has still not sent me the drawling. I asked him if I could just a spine quote tat, because he seemed having no interest in sketching my first option. He said no problem and take your time because he’s free all day. He “drew” my original design the day of my tattoo, and electronically made an anime fairy that looked like it took him 2 mins. I had no problem getting something cheaper Bc I already paid the unrefundable

I usually never write negative reviews, but I have given 717 ample time to reach out and show that they care about their clients. Unfortunately, that didn't happen; so, I want to share my story to hopefully protect someone else from going through what I personally had to endure. I went to 717 tattoo in Mechanicsburg on May 7th, 2021, and had Dave do some work on a huge tattoo on my right side that is in dedication to my mother who passed away. Chris did such an amazing job on my cover up! He took his time and made sure I was happy with it before I left. Amber was also amazing, great customer service! She gave me a tea before I left to make sure I felt okay because they know I get dizzy after long tattoos. I highly recommend going to visit Chris and amber!

My best friend, her daughter and myself all got matching tattoos by Chris at the Mechanicsburg shop. He did a fantastic job! We brought him a picture, he recreated it and his version looks better than what we brought him! I've gotten lots of compliments on mine. Many people have asked if it's fake or a sticker because the colors and detailing are so vibrant!

Terrible experience don't go to this location! Called in yesterday to try and make an appointment for today and they told me they do not take appointments for Sunday's. They only do walk ins. So I arrived when the shop opened. They lady with orange hair told me they were running late and to wait. Then she prosecuted to help another girl who had an appointment. That was fine I asked to start my paper work and she told me no. Then I waited a half hour before another person helped me and he told me that there was three appointment until they could do me and wanted me to come back later.

Was in town and wanted to get my daughter and I small (2"x2") matching tattoos. Called when they opened and they said they dont do walk-ins until 5. We wanted to have dinner first. Came by at 7:45. There was not a single customer in the place and when I asked if we could get the work done the answer was they close at 9 so they weren't doing anything else. Since we already had a poc of what we wanted and the small size of the tat we wanted, that is more than enough time. If that is how they do business by stopping work over an hour before they close, then glad I didnt get it done

I got my nose pierced here a little over a year ago by Rev and I would say he is well-experienced and very informative.
Today I went in to have him look at a navel piercing after having it done at another shop because I was having some complications. He was very helpful and thorough in explaining the error of the piercer and accommodated me with the issue. Needless to say I think I will be coming back to him for any piercings in the future!! :)

I went in to see about getting a new tattoo and asked the man at the desk how to go about that and he gave me the business card of Anthony because apparently he had the clearest schedule and told me the best way to reach him and get the answers I was looking for was to DM him a picture asking these questions to which I was ignored completely , if that's how you guys do business I wonder how anyone gets a tattoo. I've been hearing about 717 Tattoo for years, so they were the first place I called trying to get work done. Whoever answered the phone for the Mechanicsburg location was extremely rude. I know Saturdays are busy, so walk-ins aren't always available, but this person just said "no - try another location" and when I asked about appointments for Sunday I was told she wasn't even going to check, and then she hung up on me. I got a tattoo that says "just breathe" on my wrist because I suffer from anxiety. When choosing the font I told the guy I wanted the writing thin like.. Almost like I was directly writing it on my wrist, he got irritated with me and said that won't happen and that tattoos cannot be written in such thin writing and eventually talked me into bold font. I believed him and I see wonderful beautiful tattoos that are thin. To this day I hate my tattoo and the guy was not welcoming AT ALL, and made me feel as if my ideas were stupid. This was two years ago, maybe things have changed but

Went to 717 based on other Yelp reviews. Was able to get a walk-in appointment. I had a quote and a graphic picked out but no actual design. They made me feel very welcomed and comfortable from the get go. I was assigned to Anthony, was extremely nice and welcoming and offered any assistance he could. He took my idea and in a little while had created a really cool design that I loved. He was patient and friendly throughout the whole procedure. I kind of can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews on Yelp honestly. Looking up tattoo shops in Harrisburg, this was always the first one that popped up and always intrigued me the most. On first glance - all the artists have great portfolios, their website is well organized and informative, and the shop is clean and nice. Overall, I couldn't be disappointed with that.

I had an appointment in November 2010 with Brad for an inside forearm tattoo of a pink daisy to commemorate the birth of my daughter. He drew the stencil exactly how I wanted it to be and the finished product came out better than I could have imagined. Even now, almost 7 months later the colors are extremely vivid and I get compliments on it all of the time. I have 4 different tattoos on my body and this one is the one that gets noticed, every time. I cannot wait to be able to book another appointment and have the staff of 717 help me "look better naked" as that is their tagline.
