Services
Woodland Child Development Center, Inc. was born out of an expressed need for quality child care in the Hammond community. Members of the Neighborhood Action Council; a federal low-income housing project approached the Board of Trustees of the Woodmar Methodist Church with a desire to set up a day care center.
Art is one of the best ways for your preschooler to express themselves. While it may look like they are just making a mess they can actually be learning important motor skills or even something as simple as just letting things go if they make a mistake. Art will also teach your preschooler how to make a decision when they are picking out colors or what supplies to use.
Here at Woodland, we understand that parents would like to keep an eye on their children to make sure that they are receiving the best in quality care. Keeping this in mind, we offer live video feeds to each of our classrooms. Posted are the links to each room. Windows users must use Windows Explorer in from a desktop computer in order to see the video footage.

I would not recommend sending your child here. In the 6 months that she attended Woodland she had three incidents where noone could explain what had happened despite them reviewing the cameras. If you don’t mind your child care provider not having an explanation as to why your child’s clothes were cut open or how your child got blood in their ear then this place will suit you. There’s a snarky way about the employees that is unsettling. At first everyone was polite, but over time that warmness went away. I have sought out legal counsel for the final incident regarding my daughter having blood

This center use to be one of the best centers around when Carla Gadson was there but now it is horrible the teachers are beyond rude to the parents and the children! The director is very rude herself. Theres new teachers every month. Every time I was in the building I heard teachers yelling at children and that is not why we send our children to school ms Davis another one very rude and does not come off as a teacher of any four year old more like a drill sergeant and she is very unprofessional, this entire center is unprofessional and it starts with the front office DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE

My children have been attending Woodland since they were 3 months old. One just recently graduated from there and I have a five year old getting ready for kindergarten this year. Every teacher that my daughters have had, were absolutely amazing. The staff is always friendly and they work passionately with the kids. My children come home and tell me about all the excitement and fun the had through out the day. They even teach me things that I once forgot. Great job Woodland. Keep up the excellent work!
