Birdstone Winery is a family-owned operation on the eastern edge of Madera County. Since the day we opened our doors, we've been obsessed with finding the best fruit, creating great wine, and making sure our guests have the best experience possible. Our dedication to our wines & our customers keeps us busy, sometimes crazy, but that's what Birdstone is all about - our wine & our guests.
We invite you to come on in, grab a glass, find a spot on the patio, kick your feet up & enjoy our obsession.

Services
Our wines are hand-crafted from local fruit and aged in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. We work with local farmers to be certain we have the best fruit possible - so we can create the best wine possible for our customers. At Birdstone, we select varieties that our customers love, like Merlott, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah & Port.
Our Wine Club members enjoy early access to new releases, exclusive wine club bottlings, Birdstone events and rare library wines. Along with 2 bottles of wine four times a year (Feb, May, Sept & Nov) members receive the Birdstone newsletter with all the current events, Birdstone news, and detailed information about the wines.

OK y'all, get ready for a ride. We found Birdstone by serendipity when Toca Madera down the road so royally messed up our wedding reservation that they ended up refunding our deposit after having it booked for 6 months. This was because they had booked our wedding for what we later found out was a wine trail weekend. We only found this out because the employees at Birdstone noticed our date and had heard our story of how we hadn't been able to get ahold of the coordinator for some time (she had apparently been fired). And we were only at Birdstone that day because Toca's tasting

Kimberly was our hostess for the evening and served us so well. She provided snacks for us even though that wasn’t included in the wine tasting service. She was very attentive our needs and wants during our time there. There is plenty of shaded parking and the grass field outside is quite picturesque. It was a great first time wine tasting experience.

I had the opportunity to go to Birdstone Winery for the Madera Wine Crawl the weekend before Valentines Day 2020. This was the second to last winery we went to for the day.
We checked in and saw Roma's Italian Food truck happily taking food orders for the Winos out there. The grounds were so beautiful! The layout brought me back to my Los Angeles days where I helped plan a multi millionaire fundraiser with high end celebrities; you can tell I really enjoyed myself here. Definitely on my list of favorite wineries I explored that weekend.
The staff and vendors were fun and they had unique

Really cutesy venue that offered us a scenic afternoon of wine tasting.
We really like to cater our wine tastings to all reds. They encouraged us to try the whites. We gave them a fair shot we didn't end up enjoying them.
If you're passionate about reds, definitely request trying all reds as we really enjoyed those and didn't end up finishing any of the whites (they are just....all white/right).

What a great way to spend the afternoon. The owners/operators are very nice and have so much information on not only the wine industry in the area but restaurants and local things to do. The wine is delicious and the price point is spot on. We joined the wine club which gives us a 20% discount. It is a beautiful place for a wedding if you are getting married.

I had the most amazing time here. I'm from Sacramento but do a lot of tasting in Napa. This place belongs with the best. Amazing Reds that compare to Sonoma. Highly recommended when in Madera.
The reason this place is successful is because the owners use love to make there wines. You guys are the best, thanks for the good times!

The location is great it right off Avenue 9 across from Toca Madera. The outside area was still set up from a wedding the night before, and the venue would be beautiful for a small wedding.
I wasn't a huge fan of the wines. Nothing tasted like a classic wine, or a traditional pinot noir, or cabernet sauvignon. They all tasted a bit different and not as smooth as I prefer.
However, wine is based upon the taster and there were plenty of people inside enjoying their wine, but for me, not so much.
Wine tasting $8 per person.

Great little Winery well worth the stop! Sandra (pronounced Sondra) is a delightful server that really goes the extra mile (even near quitting time)! She was gracious and pleasant even though you could tell she was being pulled in 3 directions at once. The wine was about 50/50 like/meh for our taste. It was all well made, though. We really liked their white wines the best. Their red wines were a little dry for our taste (except the port, of course). The prices were decent and the experience was delightful. What more could you ask for an evening of wine tasting?

As a Wedding Venue:
We had our wedding here back in April, and it was fantastic. He venue is super flexible and will work with whatever you're looking for. Also, great wine!
What it really comes down to is finding some people who are willing to talk candidly and honestly with you. Kim and the gang are super polite, they know what they're doing better than you do. You get married once, they host weddings every weekend! About as beautiful as you can get in the central valley. Definitely check this place out.

Has outdoor seating. Call ahead for a large group, just as you would any winery. Good outdoor space to host a gamut of events. As for the wines, it's straight forward, true to the varietal's characters. Love! the viognier and pinot noir. You can bring a small amount of food to enjoy on their outdoor area (call ahead and confirm). Kyle was a great host! For those who are truly knowledgable and sincerely want to learn more about the art of making wine, Kyle is the perfect person to speak with. His background in agriculture and time spent living in Spain, gives him a broad foundation

Hadn't been here since shortly after they opened back in the mid 90's. Glad we made it a point to come back as things have truly progressed since they originally opened. They have a huge tented patio perfect for an event. The tasting room is very welcoming with plenty of fun accessories (jewelry, blingy t-shirts, wine accessories) and gourmet oils. Oh, and they have a lot of wine too! Chardonnay, Alicante, Barbera, Temparanillo, Primitivo, and lots more. Bought the Alicante and Primitivo, both delicious. The owners Kim and Tony are salt-of-the-earth people who have done a terrific

Came here the beginning of the month. Some friends invited u join them. I was impressed with the good live music and wine quality. Short drive from Fresno and clean grounds. They have live music on the first Saturday of the month not sure if it's just during the summer months. Bring your own picnic and chairs if you don't reserve a table.

Sommelier, Greg/ Jason, honestly, whatever his name is, was so rude and pompous. We were on a fun bachelorette trip, so of course we were a little intoxicated, but instead of just brushing it off and helping us out, this guy was totally trying to make my sister feel stupid. Clearly, we were not sophisticated enough for his liking, but his job is to make all guests feel special and appreciated, no matter who shows up. Honestly, maybe he was having a horrible day, but he left a really bitter taste in my mouth, enough to waste my time writing a review, haha. Just saying buddy, sorry that not everyone
