In 1962, Tom and Emily Vinson opened Adams Street Drugs at 934 Adams Avenue. It was located across from Saint Margaret's Hospital. Excellent customer service and community commitment were the foundations by which Adams Street Drugs was formed. The refreshing customer service spread through the community and another pharmacy was added behind Baptist Hospital South to serve the people living on the southside of Montgomery.
With eleven locations across central Alabama, Adams Drugs offers pharmacy services convenient to your location and lifestyle. Montgomery's locally owned and operated pharmacy provides more than just filling prescriptions. We offer prompt, friendly service and innovative solutions such as Medicine on Time.
We offer prescription delivery services to our patients inside the city limits of Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, and Wetumpka. Adams Drugs delivers to individual homes, assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, independent living facilities. Ask any of our friendly staff for information on our delivery services.
A pharmaceutically compounded prescription is one that has been individually prepared to address the needs of a particular patient. Almost any type of medication can be created through compounding. Our experienced compounding staff can do most compounds when a prescription is brought in, however, some compounds require research and special ingredients.
Did you know that you'll pay the same co-pay no matter where you get your prescriptions filled? Many Medicare subscribers aren't aware that prescriptions may now be covered under their Medicare plan. To receive this coverage, you must be enrolled in one of two types of private plans, a Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage plan.

Customer service has changed... don't depend on Adam's on Mitchell Drive. Myself, our Hospice nurse and my dying sister all asked to be put on CALL LIST when medication was ready. After FOUR times of not receiving notifications for dire meds, we give up on their supposedly family care. I personally spoke with a pharmacist the first time, explained… her immediate need, explained she was dying and in extreme pain. I guess that just was a waste of time. This last time, I went off on the person answering the phone. I did however apologize when I got there and explained how I expected better

The staff are very friendly; I have filled my prescriptions at Adams nearly a decade and they're always polite and helpful. Reminds me of old school small town pharmacy (just needs the soda counter). Haven't had medication delivered but 99% sure that it's offered; curbside delivery is offered when needed. If you're having hard time finding pharmacy that has your prescription, they'll either have it in stock or they can get next day.

Love the kind folks and really quick service on getting my medicine filled or refilled. Nice that they carry the items that you just don't find in majority of store pharmacy. Wound care, Foley catheter, obsites, medical equipment, paper tape ... AND they carry a lot of cute items that are good & unique gifts to give others

I will literally drive 30 minutes out of my way to ho here. They are beyond sweet & helpful. They have a sitting area where you can wait on your prescriptions. The pharmacist is REALLY nice & so are all the people who work at the counter. One time I called & gave them a list of everything I needed from over the counter & they had it ready for when my husband arrived for my prescription. I had just gotten out of surgery & my husband said that if I had not called ahead he would never have figured out which bandages & other things I needed. Oh they also deliver for only $5. I live too far away for

We love this pharmacy. The staff is friendly and everyone treats us with respect. They get to know you and your family and are always taking care of us. They are very fast when filling prescriptions, too. They work hard to call the doctor if you run out of refills and help you when your prescription runs out.

Whatever you need, they either have it or will make it. Nothing against the big-chain drug stores, but too many times they don't have it; can't make it; the only real pharmacist is at the store across town that closes in 10 minutes... Adams always has actual pharmacists there who can fill your prescription in a few minutes.
