Established in 1948, Big Freight Systems is a leading Canadian asset-based flatbed and specialized trucking and freight management company based in Steinbach and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Celebrating our 70th anniversary in 2018, Big Freight has grown from a modest four truck operation providing local cartage services in Southeast Manitoba into a specialized carrier with more than 600 pieces of rolling stock servicing all of North America.
The history of Big Freight Systems Inc. begins in 1948, when the Coleman family purchased South East Transfer, a four truck operation in Steinbach, Manitoba. Since then, the Coleman's have worked tirelessly to build a company dedicated to honesty, hard work and exemplary customer service.

Horrible. Spoke with sales, couldn't answer simple questions on moving over dimensional freight from ON to SK. Spoke to the salesman and the guy who runs operations. Was pretty condensing and when I did my research he was wrong. I ended up moving it with Q-Line. Guy walked me through it, explained the permits and the price. All I was asking for.

They picked up a load in Chemung NY on a Friday afternoon with instructions to deliver at 7am Monday
At noon on Monday the driver was heading back to their yard in La Salle to find trailer.
At time of posting 1pm still no driver.
400 miles and can’t deliver on time, not the driver but a dispatcher problem
Did business with big freight many years ago and they were great.
I’ve had to put them on a no load list at Landstar as well and several other carriers and brokers.

One of your drivers- last night around 8pm- near Revelstoke heading westbound, & I was heading eastbound, was passing another truck in an extremely short passing lane. He went over the solid yellow line & was extremely close to hitting me. I informed the RCMP & he was pulled over near Revelstoke. I received a call from the Constable informing me the driver had been stopped. I would suggest you hire experienced drivers and/or offer additional training to new & old drivers as this is very dangerous & is endangering the life of other drivers as well. Especially since the trans is prone to deadly accidents

They are pretty fast at unloading and the forklift guys are nice l. But the girls in the office are the worst. It's like they get paid commission for being extra grumpy to drivers. Considering they are a trucking company its pretty pathetic If your own staff treat drivers like second class citizens.
Making drivers wait inside while getting unloaded for saftey reasons when you can't be bothered to fix your steps outside is obviously hypocritical. Also their warehouse down the street always treats me nice and doesn't seem to abide by those same company "safety policies".
