Iron Workers Local No.46 has been proudly serving Central Illinois' Construction Industry for over 100 years. We pride ourselves on providing our Owners and Contractors with the most qualified and safety conscious Ironworkers in the Construction Industry. Our members are highly trained and skilled craftsmen and women who take pride in their work and communities.
Local 46's mission is to continually meet the demands for qualified Ironworkers to rebuild Central Illinois' aging infrastructure and expand business as well as manufacturing. We will continue to fight and stand for living wages and benefits for all of the working class, for that is what built this Great Country we live in!

Iron Workers Local 46 is located at 2888 E. Cook Street Springfield, Illinois, and is an affiliate of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers. Our jurisdictional boundaries cover 20 counties in Central Illinois. We are a mixed Ironworker Union Hall.
What is Organizing? The common term for a group of workers looking to join a union is "Organizing." Workers organize for various reasons, be it to improve their working conditions, increase their pay or benefits, and/or to create a better working environment.

The Local 46 Apprentice School is at the same address but in the building to the rear of the Union Hall. Local 46 has a 3 year apprentice program. Classes are held nightly. There are Safety & OSHA classes held nightly or on weekends. Local 46 JATC takes applications year round. You must have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid drivers license, and $15.00 cash.
