We're extremely proud of our 60-plus year history, a story that begins literally with bargains in the basement offered by a little family business in New Hampshire. Started by Mr. Louis Porrovecchio in 1951, Rockingham Electric originally operated from the cellar of his home in Portsmouth. His wife tended the books and he stocked and sold the parts.
Rockingham Electric incorporated and issued stock for the first time in 1954, using the new capital to expand its operations into larger quarters (albeit still in the basement) beneath Portsmouth's Italian-American Club on Court Street. By 1958, the Porrovecchios were ready for change and they sold the company's outstanding stock to Mr. Herbert Clifford.

This decision is based on the latest CDC guidance which states that anyone who is fully vaccinated can safely resume activities indoor and outdoor without masks or distancing, in gatherings large or small. Un-Vaccinated individuals will still be required to wear a mask when moving about inside the branch and outdoors if they are unable to maintain a safe social distance.
Coordinate with all groups involved to ensure lighting plan is completed as desired without the homeowner being the "middleman". Educate on aspects of layered lighting, task lighting and lighting advancements for the home. Coordinate our lighting design with the Interior Designer, Homeowner and Electrical Contractor.

After a lukewarm experience at a lighting store in Nashua, I made the decision to drive an hour east to visit Rockingham Electric and am very happy that I did. We recently remodeled our kitchen and I needed the help of a lighting designer who could tell me where to place ceiling lights, and why type of lights I needed. Crystal, the showroom manager, spent an hour with me, showing me what options were available.
