Issaquah Highlands Counseling Group is a multidisciplinary group of therapists who provide comprehensive mental health services. In a warm and welcoming environment, each patient is assessed at the beginning of treatment and a plan is developed to best support the patient's goals.

Services
Kari O'Neill, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and the owner and Clinical Director of Issaquah Highlands Counseling Group. She specializes in individuals, couples and family therapy. Kari has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Social Work, both from the University of Washington.
Josef has experience working with a variety of patients in different clinical settings. Among his areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, life transitions, gender identity and expression, LGBTQ+, trauma and recovery, and attachment disorders. Josef has received training in trauma focused CBT. Josef has served adults, adolescents, and teens in private practice and community mental health.
IHCG and Kari have been life changing for me. I've never felt so cared for by any therapist in my life. If you struggle with life challenges and need someone to talk to, I cannot recommend this group enough. You will not regret it. Amazing and gifted therapists and a caring and friendly office staff really makes a great recipe for the ideal counseling team.
If we are out-of-network for your insurance company, payment in full is due at the time of service and a receipt will be provided to you. It is the patient's responsibility to submit the receipt for potential reimbursement to their insurance company, and obtain all necessary information regarding benefits, pre-authorizations, and coverage.

As someone looking for mental health support, so many challenges and barriers come with accessing care. It is clear that this agency does not consider the well-being and mental health of folks as seen with their inflexible rules and no opportunity to ask how or what was happening with the person. They charged $300 for a service that was never given. Most mental health agencies charge around $90 for appointments missed to maintain the respect of the therapist and the accountability of the client, but never $300. This agency is profit over people. I suggest investing your time and care into therapists

Josef Coers contacted my emergency contact twice to tell them to call the police to deal with the nonviolent non-self harming mental health challenges I was experiencing. If you don't want law enforcement involved in your mental health I recommend you find a different therapist. You can't hide this review. Clients deserve to know if their safety could be threatened by law enforcement because of your actions. I was handcuffed. Pushed down onto my bed and wrapped with metal mesh. At the ER I was handcuffed to a bed and injected with medication that forced me to sleep without my consent. I don't know

I have been seeing Kari O'Niel for grief and anxiety during the time when my sister was critically ill from a hospital acquired infection which eventually took her life. I continue to see her on a semi regular basis for related issues. She and the rest of the staff at this office have provided invaluable support and caring during this difficult time and beyond. I am eternally grateful to Kari for her guidance and support. This counseling group accepts Medicare which is a huge plus.
