Captains Corner
Captain's Corner has been in operation since 1985 as a PADI 5 star Dive Center and has Key West's only on-site training pool. We offer a full range of scuba diving courses from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Certification all the way up to Dive master, as well a variety of specialty courses. We pride ourselves on having the best instructors, guides and boat crew on the island.

Just hop on our boat and admire the third largest coral barrier reef in the world. The reefs sites we go to are located within the National Marine Sanctuary, which means they're protected area's and therefore have a spectacular coral and fish life. Or dive the Vandenberg, this wreck was rated as the number 1 wreck in the world by the readers of Scuba Diving Magazine.
Services
Leslie is the owner of Captains Corner and has been running her business with enthusiasm and passion for 30 years. You will meet her in her 'office', our booth on Greene street when you check in for you dives. She is also the person that you will talk to on the phone when you have any questions, so feel free to call and get your needed information.
Is there a dive master in the water with me? No. We do have a dive master on the boat that sets up the lines gives the briefings, helps you with gear and answer any questions you might have. The dive master stays on the boat while the divers are in the water in case of emergencies in the water. If you would like to have a dive master with you in the water, you can hire a private guide.
We go to one of our spectacular reefs every afternoon, two one hour dives on different reef locations. Leaving the dock at 2.00 pm, check in time is at 1.30 pm and returning to the dock at around 6.00 pm. The reef is approximately six miles offshore - about a 40 minute boat ride - and provides a number of locations for scuba diving and snorkeling Key West.
We dive one of the Key West wrecks every morning. Leaving the dock at 9.00 am, check in time is at 8:30 am and returning to the dock at around 1.00 pm. Most mornings we do a double dip (with a mandatory 1 hour surface interval in between dives) on the Vandenberg. The Vandenberg wreck lies approximately seven miles south of Key West and sits in 140' of water, the main deck is at 95'.
Always wanted to experience scuba diving and see the fascinating underwater world? This is where it all starts! A one day discover scuba diving course for non-certified divers. Experience the thrill of diving under the care and close supervision of one of our expert PADI instructors. Although this course does not certify you as a diver, it's a fun introduction to scuba diving.

Totally awesome company here. They genuinely care that we have a great time.
I did the refresher course because it had been a while since I have gone scuba done. I felt a lot more comfortable in the afternoon dive because of the course.
Dive boat was great. Professional captain & crew. Really good dive instructor / guides. Overall a good experience.
I will be back. I recommend it.

Can't speak to a diving experience, but not thrilled with their customer service....they called us this morning to let us know our 1 day resort course was cancelled due to winds. I get it....you can't control weather. But they made zero effort to reschedule us. "We are fully booked, you could try some other places but it is the week before Xmas." I know it is the week before Xmas...that's why I booked months in advance....and they pretty much cancelled Christmas for a 10 year old kid who had been talking about learning to scuba dive for months, so there's that.
Again, not mad about weather cancellation

Beautiful dives and great captain. Our instructor brought us the wrong sized equipment and didn’t bring any backups, and was kind of patronizing and man-splaining. Also didn’t seem to mention to our discover scuba person that they needed to stay close to us in case of emergencies. But when he did start floating to the surface, the instructor was very helpful in bringing them back down. Maybe it’s personal taste, but we didn’t leave with the most pleasant taste in our mouths….

Super cool experience. Saw sharks and baracuda and so much more then I expected. Tommy was super chill and didnt seem like u was in a class. We did two dives and would reccommed this to anyone looking for something to so. They offer snorkeling or just hangout on the boat. Always remember to tip your guides. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did

One of the best dive centers in the Keys. I needed a refresher dive and the entire staff was pleasant, patient and friendly. The small group (4) of us was treated with respect and made us feel welcome.

The two-tank open water dive was spectacular. Using their equipment I was at ease and enjoyed every minute of the dive. My 2nd open water dive was at the artificial reef called "USS Vandenburg". Stunning scenery and 1000s of fish made it special.

The dive boat is modern and well-equipped. Skippers were friendly and outgoing and ensured everyone was safe and had a good time.

We will

I had an amazing time with captains corner, this morning we dove the Vandenburg. Max depth for me was 102ft, i went solo so they paired me up with another single diver. I had a blast, they said the visibility wasn’t as great as it usually is (today it was 30-40) but it was still amazing for me as i am used to the gulf coast. We did 2 dives, crew was laid back and very safe at the same time.

My son, Anthony, just completed his Open Water certification with Captain’s Corner. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Jenn handled my son’s registration and answered a ton of questions by us…she was friendly, professional and great to deal-with. Joe was Anthony’s instructor - my son reported back that Joe was GREAT and he felt very confident during the dives and Joe was a terrific teacher. It was a very memorable experience with this Dive shop and we would definitely choose them again.

Captain's Corner is very strict about the safety and protection of their clients. In Key West, you will find most businesses don't follow safety protocols like mask or social distancing. Yet, Captain's Corner does put limits on students and passengers allowed on boat.

At first I was upset that Captain's Corner didn't want to accept me because I have Epilepsy but they were just following PADI safety standards and take extra precaution and seemed empathetic about my inconvenience.

If you want safety Captain's Corner is great. Just make sure you are prepared and

Was going on a trip to Key West and wanted to scuba dive. Had contacted several different dive companies prior to our arrival in Key West, Captain's Corner were the most accommodating.
When I arrived for my dive, I realized I had forgotten my certification card. We tried calling PADI, they tried, I tried, couldn't get thru on phone or the website. Since I couldn't dive, they offered snorkeling, which was disappointing, but accepted the offer. The entire crew from the captain to dive masters and instructors were very kind and accommodating. They made my snorkeling experience fun

I've been out diving with Captain's corner 4 times now. Captain Bradley is super friendly, always looking out for everyone's safety on the boat.
Dive master Amanda was very helpful whenever I had a question.
I also did my PADI OWD certification here with instructor Miguel. He is very diligent and makes sure you really get it. Further, he is so passionate about diving and really helped me discover it for myself. Many thanks!!

Friends and I went out for some scuba and snorkeling while in Key West with Captain's Corner on the Sea Eagle. I can't say enough good things about our captain and dive masters Travis, Ricky and Magnus. They were incredibly knowledgable about the sites and waters around the island. Staff shared valuable tips and engaging stories from their experiences in and around Key West. I would highly recommend them to anyone vacationing in Key West and looking for an awesome experience.

The search for SCUBA in Key West stops here I promise! The Captain and crew are professional but most of all enthusiastic about taking you out. To me that means they love what they do and aren't just in it to make a buck. They want to share the KW SCUBA experience with you!

I scheduled an afternoon 2 tank dive about a week in advance and the process was very easy. Just gave them our names, dive certification agency, and date of our last dive and the very nice lady said they would hold us slots with full gear rental service. I called the morning of the dive as the weather was questionable and they said they were going to try and dive but at a different location due to bad visibility on the main reef. The plan was to dive a shallow shipwreck first and then move to a smaller reef for the second tank. When we arrived at the location they had 2 ladies checking people
