I was born and raised in American Fork. My family has a long tradition of serving the health needs of the residents of Utah County (my grandfather was Dr. Guy Richards). Following my LDS mission to the deaf in the Boston Massachusetts Mission, I decided to pursue Audiology as a profession.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from Utah State University, a Master of Science in Audiology from Brigham Young University, and my Doctor of Audiology from the Salus University.I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and certified by the American Speech Language-Hearing Association.

I have worked in the hearing industry for over 10 years. I am a board-certified hearing instrument specialist with many years of experience in creating effective treatment plans for hearing loss and tinnitus. I am also the Director of Treatment at Timpanogos Hearing & Balance, overseeing the training and treatment protocols for the company.

Dr. Garrett and his staff are wonderful!!! I am so happy with my treatment and the special attention they show to me each visit. I never thought better hearing would change my life like it has. My biggest challenge was hearing and understanding people when they talked. I had hearing aids for over 8 years when my hearing got bad enough that I was having trouble hearing my students. I taught at the University. I needed to hear my students when they had questions. I retired 6 years ago and had found I didn't have a classroom of students to listen to. I began to use my hearing aids less and less. I felt that they were increasingly difficult to hear with and seemed to amplify sounds more than the clarity of what people were saying. I finally gained enough courage to get my hearing tested. I have been putting it off for years and have suffered because of my fears and anxiety. I am so glad I finally took the plunge. Dr Garrett is so nice and made me feel comfortable. I have to say that my life has changed for the better since receiving treatment. I would HIGHLY recommend Timp Hearing and Balance . I had my consult appt today 12/20/21 and I can’t tell you the last time I had a customer service experience this good. I went back to see the Dr immediately upon arriving on time. He was thorough and 1000% could’ve recommended a treatment plan for my mild hearing loss and tinnitus. But instead of taking advantage of my wallet, he was honest and sincere. He told me he didn’t think I was ready for hearing aids yet and wanted to monitor my hearing annually. Dr. Garrett came to us as a referral from a family friend & he has been wonderful to work with. He was super good with my little girl (8yrs old) & explained everything in a way even she could understand. This was an important choice to finally come investigate the different hearing problems I seemed to be having for decades. I put it off. I wanted a place that had evidence that they knew their stuff and had excellent reviews. Timpanogos Hearing & Balance was the office that it brought me to.
