Services
Pinewood Lodge Campground has been family owned and operated since 1952, but our story started many, many years before that. The Saunders Family and the land of Pinewood are rooted in the history of Plymouth, Massachusetts. As we approach the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage and the founding of Plymouth Colony, we pause to remember the rich history of the land we know as Pinewood Lodge Campground.
All rates are subject to change and are based on 2 adults, children under 10, one camping unit, and two vehicles per night per site. While we hope that you would never need to cancel we understand that the unexpected can happen. Cancellations policies are based on when a reservation is cancelled in relation to your arrival date.
Honey Wagon service is scheduled twice weekly, Mondays and Thursdays. Service is $30 if prepaid for Monday or Thursday, Emergency pump available for an extra fee (contact office). All reservations require a deposit; the amount will vary depending on the type of reservation being made. We are pleased to be welcoming pets of our camping friends at Pinewood.
Pinewood Lodge has added to its selection of rental accommodations. If you are new to camping, or simply seek to stay in something which is more like home, one of our rental units might perfectly suit your tastes. Call the office for more information and for booking. Includes a full kitchen, full bath, 1 full bed / fold away twin, linens, AC/heater and cable TV.
Relax with a book in the exquisite knotty-pine Main Room of Pinewood Lodge, or enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine the Lodge back deck overlooking picturesque Pinewood Lake. We offer a full-service bar on the weekends and a mini-bar during the week and you'll have access to our snack bar and camp store for a quick bite to eat while you take in the sights and sounds of the forest.

Pinewood Lodge is the nicest campground in Massachusetts. Jody is extremely friendly and helpful. There is great fishing in their lake. And surprise, Jack is available for winterizing, summerizing, and general maintainance on campers while you camp there. It's clean, especially the bathroom facilities. 10 Stars for Pinewood Lodge!

Avoid certain sections of this park.
I stayed two summers in a row and in one section there were very small flies that somehow managed to get into my camper that no matter how hard I tried still managed to get inside my camper and my camper is immaculate.I was inundated with them night and day and finally left earlier than planned. They are not very accommodating if you have concerns especially once you have paid in full.Except for the young seasonal staff they are very rude to guests if you have any difficulties during your stay.I would never stay here again even if it was free.

The family run campground is beautiful. Well maintained, immaculate facilities and very friendly & helpful staff.
Many types of sites to choose and all are either water & electric or full hook up yet, many sites are private & setback surrounded by wooded area or open with lots of space to expand. We were so very happy with our experience, we booked a week for next season before we left. The pristine lake beach for swimming catch & release fishing & boating (rentals available) is breathtaking. Courteous & respectful campers.

First timer here....I will also say before I wrote my review I did read previous reviews as I usually do when choosing destinations. My family had a great time the campground does have rules but nothing too unfair....I will say if your looking to party all night this isn't the place. It does seem some people may live here year round so I get it. Fires are asked to be out at midnight and quiet hours begin at 10. Being a family with 4 kids 10 and under this was not a problem for us 🤣😉 No one harrased us like stated in previous reviews which I was thankful for so that problem seems to have been

This campground is huge! They have some good activities going on for kids and alike. The staff was great! I found the drinks at the snack shack to be a bit high on the price point - also - I didn't find them to be tasty (not made by them - canned). I did like that they support a local business by selling the canned beverages!

Nice campground! We would visit again. My only complaint would be the sand. The sites are really sandy and it makes it tough to keep things clean. The girls working the store could be more polite but it’s stocked well and the prices are fair. We stayed in the deer run area and it was super quiet…off the main drag that goes though the center on the campground. Historic Plymouth is less than 15 minutes away. There’s a market basket 2 minutes down the road as well.

We stayed a few weeks ago in the cabins for a week which were really nice aside from the few beer cans we found they forgot to clean up. By the end of the week each of us had at least 20 bites on each of our feet which we aren't sure if it was mosquitos or sand fleas. The place is beautiful but an absolute ghost town. There are no activities during the week and the snack shack was open once the entire week so not the best place for families, maybe older couples would enjoy it better. We had a 1 year old so we didn't mind the quiet too much but as she gets older she would be bored since there's

This is a beautiful campground, it holds many campers adequate space between sites, each site has a beautiful stone fire pit. The roads are in pretty good shape. Although there are so many of them it's easy to get lost. I noticed another camper complain about mud, we stayed in s6 And the park is huge, so there could have been muddy areas. Our site was sand and it rained while we were there one day, no standing water, we did see some muddy places on the road near the boat launch and one area that looked like a smalll mud pond, perhaps to keep water off the road. The bathrooms and laundry are conveniently

Traveling thru on Indigenous People's Day Weekend and needed a site for 2 nights. We drove thru and they had plenty. Lady insisted we had to pay for 3 days at $350+. We've stayed here before so we were disgusted to say the LEAST. So instead of $200 for 2 nights, they made ZERO and we found a place for FREE! No more Pinewood Campground for us. It is nothing special anyway.

Had an amazing time renting a yurt for 4 days. A beautiful getaway, everything was great and will definitely be visiting again.
My only complaint was that many of the girls working in the office seemed miserable to be there, weren't friendly, and very unwelcoming and blatantly rude. At one point I went to get some drinks and firewood and mentioned how I'd like to get change for the showers after the transaction (which was debit, otherwise I would've done everything together). I was totally snubbed rudely with a dirty condescending look by her for asking/reminding for a bag (for

Had a four-day camping trip here at Pinewood Lodge and campgrounds. It was quite a hot long weekend. But it was a great camping site, the kind that you think a site should be. Plenty of trees and shade. Campsites were far enough away from others to make for a peaceful camping weekend. Bathrooms are clean, showers take quarters. It had a small lake at the campground, that many children took advantage of. It was a great place to social distance and camp. Most of all campers used their masks when necessary. A great time was had by all at this lovely campground. The camp store had a nice selection

Trying to do safe space and in state activities with the kids for vacation. We stayed in The Cottage. It has a "musty" smell. Full kitchen with a full bathroom. Which I wanted something more private to avoid contact with too much. Everything was provided but the beds were stained and sandy, we brought our own linens/pillow cases, towel/beach towels and blankets. I honestly don't think they even After a throughout cleaning we set up and utilized the grill, fire, fishing docks, and outdoor activities inside and outside the campground.

We were here near the end of July for a long weekend. It looks very nice when you drive in because there are so many trees and of course the Pines are prevalent. It's nice when you're at a campground and you feel like you're actually out in the woods and in spots this Campground does that. We had a nice shaded site near our friends which made it very convenient. However, I have never seen so many mosquitoes before in my life.
We camp a lot and I don't know if other campsites spray for mosquitoes but it was scary how many bites that we got and even the dog was bitten. Also

We reserved a tent site the weekend of July 10, 2020. We left soon after checking in. It is just so crowded. The sites are way too close together and overlook a sea of RVs. Our closest neighbors--3 yards on both sides--were parties of 10 or more, no bushes or trees to create the illusion of distance. Cars, tents, music, no privacy, and all the people. Eating pizza and drinking wine in our dining room feels so much better even if it cost us $100.00 and we still need to unpack. The staff were all very nice and the facilities were clean. Maybe it was a large group party or a COVID phenomenon?

We rented the Lake House back in 2017. The view was absolutely stunning, with water views from several rooms in the house. It was not crowded, so we has the beach area almost to ourselves a few of the days. It was a relaxing trip; not too many activities during the day, which would have been nice. The Lake House is right out of the 1950s, which I found charming, with knotty pine walls and vintage kitchen/baths. It was like stepping back in time to when life was simple. If you rent it, though, bring your own linens, as the ones they give you are extremely old and threadbare. There is no ac

I was just here Saturday night it was a last minute decision to go camping. It was very easy to get to. The campgrounds was very clean and family friendly, they had a little carnival for the kids they were about to close up when we got there but staff was very nice and gave my granddaughter tickets to get prizes, she was so happy, I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a family friendly campground. They also have a playground and a lake for swimming as well as beer g a le to tent canoes.

If you have a dog go somewhere else.
We stayed here with our mini daschund. If you are camping with a dog you cannot go to the lodge, the office, the store, the beach, or the playground. You cannot even see the lake if you have a dog with you; and you can't leave the dog at your site. So, I camped here and didn't partake in any of the amenities. I can't evaluate them because I could not even see them (my husband checked us in while I was escorted away from the area because I had a dog on a leash). It should cost less to camp here if have a pet because you are not permitted

More like 3.5 stars.
We booked the only lakeside cottage available so that we'd have a view of the lake. It is hard to tell from a drawn map how close you are to places but the cottage is right beside the lodge so we saw vehicles coming in and out. The cottage has a screened in porch in the back so you can sit and enjoy the lake without the bugs.
The cabin is dated but overall clean. Dishes and cooking pans are cheap and a little grubby so bring paper plates/utensils. Definitely bring a nice dish sponge because it wasn't included for us.
Airplanes. Wednesday we heard planes

We traveled from Philly to here for a few days and have stayed at many campgrounds. I really thought the place was peaceful and beautiful. I do agree some of the rules are odd compared to other campgrounds (visitors and site limitations) however they didn't apply to us for this trip so I wasn't bothered by them. The office lodge was really nice and they have benches that overlook the lake which we enjoyed some local ice cream on them. Also the playground is right by the lake... again really nice. I also like that campsites are not one on top of the other like some places. I wish they

We have camped here a few times just for weekends. But this time we are staying for a week. Nice quite site with plenty of space in the trees. Our dogs love it with lots of space to walk them.
They have a good size store with most of what you might need. If not you are not that far from shopping to pick up what ever else you might have forgot. Great place! We will be back for sure. Even to try to get a seasonal site for next year. They even have a bar and restaurant with a great view of the lake from the hill
