The USDA has a website where the public can search Agricultural Survey data beginning with an extensive, 572-page "Sixth census of the United States" from 1840. As you move forward, it is at the Eighth census, in 1860, where more detailed agricultural information is available for Rhode Island.

The USDA has issued a Secretarial natural disaster declaration for Tropical Storm Elsa that impacted the areas of Kent and Providence County Rhode Island. This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans [fsa.usda.gov].

Those of you that have been RI Farm Bureau members for quite a while may recall the yellow cardstock slips that were available to you to be kept in you vehicle in case of a motor vehicle stop. These slim sheets provided relevant RIGL to discuss with a police officer in the case of any stop where farm plated vehicles would not be required to comply with laws which apply to most vehicles.
