We provide the highest-quality classical ballet instruction in the greater Pittsburgh area to children ages 18 months & up, preschool through advanced.
Starting with our Mommy and Me Ballet class, and continuing through to our High School program, we offer classes to all ages and levels. Classical ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance, and while some schools offer ballet in a supplemental capacity, at the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh, it is our specialty!.

Services
Dina Castillo began her training at the Allegheny Ballet Company when she was five years old. She studied under the direction of Deborah Anthony and Cristin Burwell (Davis). At the age of sixteen, she was invited to study year round at the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet.
Our focus is providing the highest-quality classical ballet training in a creative and caring environment for children ages 18 months - 8 years. Beginning with Mommy & Me Ballet (ages 18 months - 3), and continuing through to Children's Ballet 4 (ages 6-8), our Children's Division (once-a-week) classes strive to teach children the fundamentals of the classical ballet vocabulary.
We offer several summer programs and camps for children ages 18 months and up, beginner through pre-professional. For children ages 18 months - 3, our Mommy & Me Ballet camps offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy ballet with your child! And, no experience required!. Our always-popular preschool camps for ages 3-5 provide the perfect introduction to classical ballet!
Our annual performances of The Nutcracker have quickly become a holiday tradition at the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh! Our production is the largest in the South Hills, and second-largest in the greater-Pittsburgh area, and all registered students in Children's Ballet 1 & up are eligible to participate.
In addition to our annual performances of The Nutcracker, we also present our Spring Gala performances in late April/early May, featuring a wide selection of classical and contemporary ballets.
These have included such classics as Coppelia, La Bayadere, Swan Lake & The Sleeping Beauty, as well as works from George Balanchine including Divertimento No. 15, Harlequinade, Raymonda Variations, Serenade, Valse Fantaisie, Walpurgisnacht Ballet, and Who Cares?.Our repertoire also includes Jerome Robbins' Circus Polka, and Peter Martins' Eight Easy Pieces.
