Shulman Family Law Group handles complex divorces and related family law issues with confidence, confidentiality and a client-focused approach. Courts are not the place to be! Taking a case to court means leaving critical, life-impacting decisions to the whim of a judge, and losing control over the outcome.
There are other alternatives. We'll work to find the option that serves you and your family the best! Dissolving a marriage is naturally a stressful process. Many people find the adversarial experience of going to court to get divorced exacerbates bad feelings in an already-difficult time and can result in ongoing tension in their post-divorce life.

Services
Shulman Family Law Group represents and advises sophisticated clients in all aspects of divorce, including asset division, spousal and child support, relocation with a child and cross-border custody enforcement, both international and interstate. We also assist with adoptions, surrogacy, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, modifications to existing orders and the rights of same-sex couples.
Going to court for divorce can be a perilous undertaking. Unless you can resolve all issues amicably with your spouse, you will place your life's assets and the future of the people you love in the hands of a judge that you don't know and who does not know you. It is reasonable to feel anxious. That's why it is critical to have an advantage when going to court.
Children are a main concern when a marriage or nonmarital relationship ends. At Shulman Family Law Group, we advocate aggressively for our clients to protect their rights regarding parental roles and determining proper child support. We have extensive experience working with clients who have complex assets, which complicates matters regarding child support and spousal maintenance.
California law states that in a judgment of dissolution of marriage or legal separation, the Court may order one party to pay for the support of the other party for a period of time the Court determines is warranted. Divorcing parties can reach agreement on spousal support on their own, but if they are unable to, the court will determine an amount based on the standard of living established during the marriage.
California is a community property state, which means that marital assets are divided equally between spouses. If you own a lot of property or a business, or if you have valuable art, vehicles, jewelry, furnishings or antiques, the process of dividing property can get complicated.
You need to have legal counsel to protect your rights, and our experienced and caring attorneys here at Shulman Family Law Group can help you understand how to comply with this law.Any debt that has been incurred by you or your spouse during the marriage is also subject to California community property law.

Part 3 - let me make this very clear.
My situation is very intricate and complicated because - if you want to know or read my first review, part 1 of 2 is on Yelp. This is part 2 of 2.
Here's my update is that I'm feeling very queasy about this transaction. It was the first time I've hired a lawyer in my life, and the reason that I went with her because she had reputable LinkedIn connections. I've only heard from Maya directly after I hounded them down in making sure her firm had received my final payment towards the retainer fees.
The reviews - I've read here and Facebook is genuinely bugging

I had a child custody case that involved quite a lot of intricacies (no marriage, 2 children, domestic violence, etc). She helped me navigate the multiple different turns the opposing counsel took, anticipated how things might play out very well, guided me to handle situations better, and ultimately helped achieve the end goal, which resulted in us doing a move away. She was always professional, upfront with me about possible outcomes, and gave the best advice. She was always timely, effective, communicative, respectful, assertive, and preemptive. I'm so grateful for her taking on my case and guiding

I was referred to Maya's firm by a friend and am very grateful for it. Maya represented me in a custody situation with my ex-husband. She and her staff did an excellent job and were both understanding and responsive to my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Maya to anyone needing counsel in a family law case. I hope to not need this type of representation in the future, but in the event that I do, I would definitely use Maya's firm again. Jennifer and Gigi in her office were wonderful to deal with also.

I have been professionally associated with Maya Shulman for nearly 20 years, and I have worked directly in consultation with many of her clients.
I have always found her to be a consummate professional who takes her clients' needs seriously. She is a straight-shooter, and that might be off-putting to clients who think an attorney is supposed to be a hand-holder.
Her clients (with whom I have consulted) have always felt she knew the law and gave them the best representation possible.
Being that she is a Certified Family Law Specialist, her clients are involved in a divorce proceeding and/or custody

There is so much I can say about Maya Shulman and her team, truly I've been blessed by their help through my situation. Overall they are hard working and take into account every detail of your case and of how the laws can help. Maya always keeps in honest and quick communication with you to help move the case along as smooth as possible. When the other party is being difficult and it's just so hard to understand why, Maya and her team are there to talk strategy of what their side's thought process is and how to combat it. There is no other attorney I would recommend more that Maya and her staff

I honestly am so thankful that I decided to team up with Maya and her firm, I've worked with other attorneys but they do not compare to the care and the hustle that Maya has. She begins working on day one and goes through all the details of your case that you probably weren't thinking about. Her thoroughness kept me confident I was in the right hands! She told me exactly what I needed to hear and executed exactly as she said she would. And when the other side fought back, Maya came with strategy! She knows what she's doing! I would recommend Maya and her family law team in a heart beat. Thank you

I had a great phone consultation with Maya where I went over the details of a post nuptial agreement I needed her services on. She gave me her fee over the phone and I told her I would get back to her as soon as my husband's lawyer had the agreement ready. Cut to 2 months later, I called Maya back to engage her services and it was like I was speaking to a completely different person. Unfortunately, she hadn't taken any notes during our initial consultation and couldn't recall most of what we had discussed. When I started to remind her of our conversation she proceeded to gaslight me in the most
