Churchill Rugs and Carpets has been in business for over 70 years. The first Churchill carpet store began as stall in Newark in the early 1900s. By 1950, the family business had expanded to at least three locations in Northern New Jersey, including the Montclair store that was opened in 1948. Then in 1994, after 30 years with Churchill, Mark and Jileen Friedman became the owners and operators of the Montclair store.

Mark and Brian were lifesavers! We moved into our new house on a Saturday and quickly realized we didn’t have the right rug pads for our area rugs on our newly finished floors. After frantically looking at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and not finding the size we needed, we stumbled onto Churchill Rugs & Carpet. They cut us two felt sizes instantly and were so kind and professional. We returned for subsequent felt pads the following week and were not disappointed—they continued to be friendly, courteous, and fairly priced.
