Brian is a native of South Salem, NY, and studied botany and horticulture at SUNY Cobleskill. Since his first floral design position at a shop in New Canaan, CT, his design career has taken him to Boston, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and the Napa Valley - and finally, back home to New York.
Brian is incredible to work with. Our flowers were stunning and exactly what we envisioned. We wanted something unique and fun and they delivered. With minimal guidance they created gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces while working within our tight budget. We also hadn't gotten back to them about ceremony decor and 2 weeks before the wedding asked for a bunch of additional arrangements which they handled with no problem.
As such, we're pleased and honored to provide links to some of our favorite places in Uptown and nearby. Our friend Bridget is turning Uptown dining on its head with her fresh and flavorful menu. Ecce Terra combines a superior dining experience with the welcoming feel of a neighborhood cafe. When it comes to Italian food in Kingston, Stella's is the matriarch - the yard stick for all who came after.

Sharon was extremely kind and courteous when I called for a rose bouquet. I called a few other florists and she was the only one who talked to me about the different types of roses, asked which red hue I wanted, went into detail about the extra greenery the bouquet could contain, etc.
I had a concern when I picked up the roses that they looked wilted but she patiently explained that roses have "traveler petals" to protect them and even showed me a nascent rosebud to show the similarity in the external petals. She also noted that the traveler petals make the rose bloom more fully and beautifully

Petalos provided us with corsages and boutonnières for our parents for our wedding day. They were super attentive, listened, provided wonderful suggestions, and helped us find the best flowers for a hot day. They were beautiful, and our moms took them home to preserve, they loved them so much. In addition, the staff were so kind to congratulate us, and make sure that the flowers we were getting would coordinate well with our parent's outfits. I'm especially happy because they were able to accommodate us with less than a month before the wedding. They were just outstanding.

My husband discovered this shop years ago and has always purchased from Brian and Sharon. We have since separated but I still make this shop a favorite and go to for anything flower related. From wanting flowers for my table to buying flowers for a Memorial service Petalos ALWAYS gets it right. Flowers are Brian's passion and obsession (he reads antique flower books for fun). I just called to secure flowers for a friend who is getting married tomorrow (and decided a few days ago). He patiently listened to the challenges and he quickly shared what he had done for other Muslim weddings.

I CALLED the shop to SPEAK about flowers for our upcoming wedding. Someone there requested that I email them with a description of what we were looking for. I did. I received an email from the owner asking that I fill out their questionnaire from their website. Another email was generated with some further questions for me. By this time, several emails in, I still had received no return phone call. Petalos Florial Design. Did a wonderful job on our wedding flowers for FEAST at Roundhill 5/9 for our mothers day wedding. They were understanding with schedule changes and specific floral choices. They were able to display and include the Panda Anemones in my bridal bouquet and accent floral decor. We were very happy! We highly recommend them. Brian was great!

What a pleasure it was to have Petalos create a sympathy planter garden for a friend. Ordering online was so easy and delivery was prompt. My sister is getting married tomorrow! I had to pick up the last minute flowers today. When I arrived at Petalos and mentioned my sister's name, a delightful woman emerged from behind a curtain and told me she was still working on them, wanting the arrangements to be as fresh as possible and could I please come back at the time my sister had told her, maybe another 30 minutes from now? A friend of mine has been estranged from his Mother and not a day goes by that he doesn't mention, usually in tears, how this is slowly killing him. I suggested he should send flowers this Mother's Day. He's not in a good place and can't afford a meal let alone flowers to his Mom so I offered to pay for an arrangement. What a beautiful little shop.. with the kindest of gentleman owning & running it!!! My 14yo daughter has been expressing her interest in succulents, as we walked passed his shop he had many on display... he took so much time to explain and converse with my teenager on the care & display of succulents. He was so generous by giving my daughter some succulents that have grown a bit too large for him, my daughter is thrilled. Walked into this florist because they have a great window display of unique hanging plants. Co-workers have raved about this place not being your typical florist and it was my mothers birthday so I figured I'd check it out. Not only was the gentleman daper AF with a cool twirled mustache but he has beautiful flowers and put together a bouquet I requested within my budget including a vase. I will be a returned customer for sure and recommend this florist.

Been here a couple of times. The man who runs it is full of personality and really nice, warm and friendly. Accommodating to any budget. Very helpful in bouquet choices. Prices are very reasonable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because twice I've been there and the roses looked a bit ragged and not fresh. There were lots of other choices so it's all good.

I cannot stress enough how much this flower shop has saved me. From mothers' day to valentine's this little shop has had my back. I usually walk in there with only a few bucks and end up getting amazing flowers. And talk about friendly service the owner is one of the nicest and most sincere people I have met. so if you're looking for something quick and stunning don't bother looking anywhere else but here.

Needed to get a quick floral arrangement for a customer and stepped in this store for help. Told Brian I had 20 bucks to spend and he made a stunning bouquet for me.

This tiny shop is full of surprises. First of all, Brian (the proprietor) is AWESOME and has unbelievably fabulous taste in unusual blooms. His taste is extremely identifiable, and his extensive knowledge is extraordinary. From flower boxes to arrangements for events, everything that comes out of his shop is divine. Walking by his place, you may not realize it but when you step inside, you'll find a host of fabulous floral finds.
