For now, all patients are REQUIRED to wear something to cover their nose and mouth upon entering the office. Dr.'s John and Jamie Costello have been providing eye care in New Jersey since 1992 and in Howell since 1996. Horrible office policy of $30 extra charge for "emergency" visit. I have been a loyal patient including my whole family for many years following them out of Walmart and into their own location. Most eye issues that fall under medical rather that eye test/check up are issues that need to be taken care of immediately. To say you can squeeze a patient in and then tell them it's an additional $30 charge is a money grab and unnecessary. I have insurance and I gladly pay my copay but an additional $30 charge is absurd! Either you can fit the patient in or you can't. I'm disappointed, as I am sure you

Great office! Went to one of the chain eye care places in town for several years, today my contacts were bothering me and very cloudy. They got me right in and changed the contacts. Also diagnosed a dry eye condition that I've had for years and the other place could never diagnose! Cant wait for Dr. Jamie to fix that! Absolutely awesome experience

Great Doctors and staff! I had an infection close to my eye (while 8 and a half months pregnant ) and they made sure it wasn’t spreading to my eye. They even called to follow up with me and then scheduled a follow up appt to make sure everything was good. You can tell they care about their patients and are genuinely nice people. I need an eye exam soon and will be back there in a few months for that!

Called for a next day (Saturday) appointment and bam - I got one so far so good ... went in on Saturday was immediately and pleasantly greeted - another thumbs up! Wait time was very short, almost immediately upon arrival I was provided an IPAD to fill out a quick questionnaire, brought back for a comprehensive eye exam, then into a room to see the Doctor.
My visit was with Dr. Costello (husband) he was pleasant and thorough even cracked a joke. Very assured, he definitely knows what he's doing and clearly explained everything in plain English. Once the exam was complete, the woman helping

Both Drs. John & Jamie have done a great job taking care of our family's eyes over the years. They have a courteous and capable staff plus all the latest fancy equipment for proper eye health. They take my insurance and though I end up paying a little more for care here it's certainly worth it. You only get 2 eyes - have them well cared for by this great practice!

Had an eye infection in my eye and called them up. They had an available appointment at 3:15 i said i would take it. Apparently because im not getting new glasses or contacts its considered a emergency visit so thats $30 and a copay against my medical. So that came out to $110. He wanted me to come back and that 3 minute visit cost me $80. I would have canceled if i new it would have cost $80 for 3 minutes of your time. Clearly you care about your wallet over helping anyone. Save your time and money go elsewhere.

I needed a new eye doctor. I chose The Costellos because the were recommended and they accepted my vision plan (VSP). I made an appointment for a routine exam. The person setting up my appointment told me "We don't use paper in this office." They then emailed me a link to a website where I was supposed to enter all of my information before showing up for my appointment a few days later. Well the website did not work. I made several attempts trying to provide the Costellos with the information they requested about myself. Suffice to say, I got frustrated. I emailed the Costellos

I've been a patient of Dr. Jamie Costello's and have been going to her office in Howell for the better part of a decade. Since my first appointment with her many years ago I've moved all over the place, including the Bronx, Queens, and Jersey City. Each time I have changed doctors, dentists, and more -- but I've never changed my optometrist.
Dr. Costello is as good as it gets. She is very friendly and personable, and takes time explain things to her patients. While I've fortunately never had any eye problems, she's provided those in my family who have with top-notch

I was due for my annual and needed an eye doctor that accepted my insurance plan (my previous Dr dropped my plan). I was fortunate enough to be referred to Costello Eye Care in Howell. Great service from my first call. The staff explained my insurance and my "out of pocket" expense and I got an appointment within a few days. The office looks brand new and everyone was very pleasant. Dr. Costello was great and I left very happy.
As a small business owner myself, I know the importance of a great first impression. Needless to say I will be bringing the rest of my family here soon.

I recently visited the office for a routine checkup and a small issue I was having. The staff and doctor were very nice. They explained everything they were doing. The doctor did my exam and recommended glasses for me. The office sells glasses there, but there was absolutely no pressure for me to actually get the glasses. I decided to get them and the woman helped me find a pair I liked. She had told me it would be about a week for the glasses to come in. They were ready three days later, which impressed me. I highly recommend this office.
