About Us Report

Our first store opened in Okeechobee in 2012. Owner, Megan worked in the restaurant industry as long as she could remember and had always dreamed of opening her own restaurant. After four years of planning, she was ready to open her first cafe. Megan and her team pride themselves on using the best possible ingredients and creating a wonderful experience for their guests.

Absolutely the best!!!
Came to Okeechobee for a visit and stopped in for lunch... What a great little place Staff is so friendly and the food is so so fresh!!! Would go every day if I lived here!!!
And... The ranch dressing is to die for, actually bought a container to take back with me!!!
Phenomenal place, highly recommended!!!!!

First time here and what a pleasant surprise. Absolutely fabulous! We had the ham and potato soup, which was awesome, and I had the ham and pear panini. Wowza! What a great pairing! The waitress/cashier was super nice and very helpful. Will definitely be back!!

Stopped here after camping and we had a solid meal. Very friendly staff cute restaurant and clean bathrooms. I had a delicious salad and my husband had a shrimp wrap. I would go here again and again! Plenty of parking and some cute stores nearby.

Whoever owns this place need to go back to school, get an MBA and learn how to manage a business. There is a reason this place exists in the middle of nowhere. It would NEVER survive in a real city. The girls who work here look like they probably obtained their GED, had kids at 15 and have zero communication skills. It smells like red tide is developing and someone needs to light a candle. If I was blind walking in there I would think I just entered my final destination on earth AKA a nursing home.

Nutmeg is a hidden gem!
Spacious, relaxed ambiance, involved staff,
FABULOUS food. I wish I had known about this restaurant much sooner.

Everything on the menu sounded good! Sad that we were traveling and could only eat here once. Service was friendly and helpful. Sandwiches come in full or half sizes, vegan options available even for dessert! Check it out, cute, quirky little place.

... in my opinion, I didn't like what I had ordered, my fault, I did enjoy
sitting outside on the screened patio, wishing you could get some 💺 seating, a little~bit taller, for people to see above the screened in railings, I overheard a few customers 👍 agreeing. KUDOS

Food is very fresh sometimes a wait but worth it tastes amazing had Cuban club and I couldn't eat it all had lunch next day mom first time had sandwich and soup lunch and she enjoyed hers as well

I love nutmegs! The wide selection of paninis and salads makes this location an oasis in our small town thats filled with pub food and tacos. This place has the best cake balls and the Pilgrim special panini will always have a place in my heart.

Run away. Don't walk. Outdated dining room. Messed up orders & long, long wait. Dirty tables on top of all that! Old pieces of cheesecake in display case. Menu items looked great! Too bad the place was short staffed.

Really impressed with this place . I came here after Dr s apt. Because I was so hungry but am trying to eat healthy.
Helpful staff member recommended a dish that was delicious and fresh .
From what I see they have a thriving business here. So refreshing to get healthy food on the go

I ordered a half of the Erica. It was absolutely delicious!! Potato salad for a side was good, but not over the top. Had a cupcake to finish off the meal, and it was great! I will definitely go back.

Nice place and friendly staff. One recommendation is to have someone look at the receipt for the order and make sure the order is complete and accurate before handing to a customer. Also for the peanut butter bacon sandwich I would have been glad to pay a bit more for more bacon yet never thought that there would be only one slice of bacon on a bacon sandwich. That seems odd. I would think there would be 3 slices. Food is good. Very cute.

I've been a fan of Nutmeg's ever since they opened! From the food to the atmosphere, there isn't another place like it in Okeechobee which makes it pretty special.

I'm a HUGE fan of sandwiches and a big fan of Nutmeg's sandwiches. They have a very wide variety of options--anything from the normal turkey club, to the classic cuban, to a more unique Thanksgiving trimmings sandwich. I myself have enjoyed the cuban the most. It was a great take on the classic--the pork was juicy and flavorful, the ham was fresh, and the Swiss was bite-y but not overpowering. They pressed it

I just finished having lunch on my way to Orlando. This place is unique and definitely a must. It's really HOMEMADE... the beet salad, the Irish soup paninis and wraps ... everything was to the point of perfection. You can choose your chair because every one of them in the restaurant is different .. it's always nice to stop in unique resTaurants like this one !!!

We drive from Orlando to Belle Glade a few times a year. We thought we try to find something healthy on the way. Found this spot, it's a small town Panera bread. It's an antique shop that serves tasty sandwiches and desserts. I enjoyed the Turkey BLT and potato salad. Grilled sandwich was great for the kids. Took some treats to go.

So we found this quaint place on YELP. What a great restaurant! Everything is homemade and was it delicious!! I also had the black bean and pumpkin soup it was fantastic! The charm of this place can't be beat. The sweet tea was great too! I ate so much I didn't have room for the fresh cupcakes. If I get the chance I am moving closer up there just to have that small home town feel. Every customer was known by name. Please do yourself a favor and eat here it was awesome. ( $35 for three of us with tip!) yum!

Stopped here on our way out to the east coast for a weekend based on reviews here on Yelp. They have a ton of choices as far as salads and sandwiches go - but alot of the sandwiches were made on your basic white bread. Kind of uneventful. I will say the salad we got was extremely fresh and quite tasty. Maybe next time we are in the area we need to get a cupcake. Those looked insanely evil and probably could bump it up to a 4 or 5 star rating. Just sayin' :-)

The food was freshly made and was spot on where taste was concerned. It's definitely a must stop/see if you're ever in Okeechobee city and in the mood for something good and healthy.
