In 1949, R.J. Blevins and Sons Gravel Hauling opened its doors in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Founded by Ray Blevins and his sons, Dale and Gene, R.J. Blevins and Sons carved out a modest niche in the dirt contracting and gravel hauling business. Industrious and resourceful, the three men began to explore new avenues for the business to expand.

Blessed with a burgeoning post WWII market, Ray had the foresight to lay hold of the upsurge in demand for transportation construction. Blevins Asphalt was born. From its humble beginnings, Blevins Asphalt has continued to redefine itself with the ever changing face of the construction field. Constantly drawing from the innovative nature of its founders, Blevins Asphalt has developed into a competitive force in the pavement construction market.
Services
Blevins Asphalt is one of the oldest family owned paving contractors in the four state area. Founded over half a century ago, we still believe in the commitment to excellence that transformed a small father and son enterprise into the industry leading corporation we are today.

Now in its fourth generation, we carry the legacy of customer satisfaction, quality materials and workmanship, and raising the bar of "industry standard" into the 21st century.Standing on the shoulders of over fifty years experience, Blevins Asphalt offers material sales and construction services to federal, state, and local municipalities as well as private companies and homeowners.
Your new pavement surface is only as good as the foundation beneath it. We have dedicated preparation crews, not dirt contractors, who specialize in aggregate base construction. Every job is prepared with the goals of proper stabilization, elevation, and final surface installation in mind. At Blevins Asphalt, we've been building excellent foundations for over fifty years.

Good friendly group of guys. If you’re delivering a load here in a van, it is recommended you have your own pallet jack. I didn’t but they still unloaded me with a little bit of creativity. Unload was quick with their teamwork and they’re super friendly. Thanks!

Worst scale house operator I have ever met! Learn how to treat customers no matter if I’m buying 5 tons of mix or 500 tons of mix.
