The wood used for each piece is hand selected by Bowes Woodworking. Bringing out the uniqueness of each piece is essential in creating a beautiful and vibrant piece of furniture. You may request wood with more or less detail, with knots or not. We will do our best to create the pieces to highlight aspects of the wood you love.
Below is a step by step portfolio of making a small table. Bowes Woodworking uses no filler woods or plywood. All furniture is built with only hardwood, which will last over time. Every side is sanded many times at grit numbers 80, 120, 220 and 320. Linseed oil moisturizes the wood and polyurethane seals the wood to protect it and bring out the grains.
The craftsmanship is very intricate and solid and the design is like no other that I have seen. The table has brightened up my room with its beauty and warmth and is a focal piece of conversation. This is a gorgeously crafted cherry wood dining table with tons of character and rich golden shades. Not only do we receive countless compliments on its simple beauty, but it is also a very solid piece which will last for generations.
