Services
Since our humbled beginnings we have worked on everything from jails, bridges, banks, government buildings, and more! Our jurisdiction, as part of the Mid-Atlantic States District Council, started out covering a small portion of central Virginia. The boundaries were, Charlottesville in the west to almost Williamsburg in the east, and Fredericksburg in the north to the VA/NC border in the south.
Through the years the local has done many historic buildings in the city of Richmond, the likes of which include one of the first State Penitentiaries, numerous railway bridges, and a few churches. In recent years the projects have included the Richmond Floodwall, Pocahontas Parkway Bridge over the James River, Richmond Coliseum, and most recently the Children's Hospital of Richmond Pavilion at VCU.
What is Organizing? The common term for a group of workers looking to join a union is "Organizing." Workers organize for various reasons, be it to improve their working conditions, increase their pay or benefits, and/or to create a better working environment.

The American Promise is that if we go to school, work hard, and become a productive and faithful employee, we can then expect to support a family, raise and educate our children, enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life and retire with dignity. We weren't supposed to have to win the lottery, or be a corporate executive to enjoy the American dream.
