Ok, full disclosure, I haven't eaten here yet. But the atmosphere, service, friendliness, layout, environment, all of it was just a step above what most places in Lake Jackson offer. I was here for a Waitr delivery and based off that, I'm going back with my wife. It's a gem

Ordered today through waitr, we ordered two of their Fried Chicken Salads, and 1 small Poblano Soup. When the ordered arrived both salads had no salad dressing. BIG BUMMER, as everything we have ordered from The Local has been AMAZING we expected the salad to be the same way. However, NOONE can eat a salad without dressing. After spending $50 on food + tip as a disgruntled customer I called the restaurant to complain. Once I got a hold of the manager they QUICKLY and PROMPTLY without hesitation remedied the situation and came to a resolution I think was very fair. I was truly blown away but the

Disappointing Dinner. We periodically visit the Local for lunch and have not had complaints. Dinner this evening, was another story. Service for taking our order was S L O W. Service for bringing the cocktails was S L O W. Service for preparation and delivery of the meal was S L O W. Bar knowledge was definitely limited. Vodka martini with "twist of lemon" arrived as vodka martini with 1/2 round of lemon slice garnished on the side of the glass. Service was horrible. We ask for sweetener never was brought. My husband finally went and got some for us. They never refilled our drinks or ask. We definitely didn’t wait for dessert menu although we went to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. The waiter came back and ask did I bring that sweetener to y’all? No you didn’t, nor did you refill drinks, and yes you got a tip because you probably needed it if your service is always that bad.

Don't let them sit you in a corner by the bathroom. It's hot and they forget about you :( Especially if you are being waited on by the bartender. Don't order the Caesar salad unless you enjoy 10 cups of salad dressing on top. :( Such a wasted night looking for the waitress. Only to find out while leaving that she wasn't the waitress :(

Um without reading the other reviews I gotta assume I wouldn't agree with some of them. Every meal item brought to the table was absolutely delicious and aesthetically pleasing. Even the iced tea and coffee were excellent. Most of our group said a four and a half until desserts. At this point everyone quickly became 5s across the board. I'd have added picture but the food quickly disappeared from the table.

This place is too expensive and NOT worth it. At $30 for a steak it should be. The steak lacked flavor and wasn't tenderized enough. Ive had better steak for half the price at Cheddar's. It was also NOT medium rare. I did the cut test in front of the waiter. He said" if it's undone we can put it back on the grill. I said it's the opposite and he just said "ok". Which by the way the waiter was very rude and acted like We are wasting his time. Just because you say "Mam" or "Sir" doesn't make you polite. The potatoes were also under-cooked

Fabulous service! And delicious food as well. Bryce was our server and he was fantastic! Not only was he super friendly and fun to converse with, but he was also extremely knowledgeable about the menu! He recommended the Spinach Artichoke dip to start and it was absolutely phenomenal! We finished our meal by sharing the strawberry cake... It was the bomb.com. Thanks for taking great care of us - we will definitely be back soon!

I've eaten here a few times. It's a solid lunch place. I usually get some type of sandwich; most recently I ordered the BLT. It was good but nothing special. The fruit cup on the side is very small. My mom had a wrap which looked good. They also have the Zapps chip brand which is really good. The patio is a fun place to sit for lunch during nice weather too. Over all, nice casual lunch place, but don't expect it to blow your mind. I'd go here again for sure.

Request No Cheese, No Mayo, & No Butter on the buns. They shared their fries & homemade potato chips are vegan as well. - So Good!
This is a really nice place in the LJ area. I love the atmosphere, very spacious with a great vibe.

My husband and I have dined with this establishment twice, both time were wonderful! The staff is kind and attentive. The restaurant is clean, very cozy, and has tons of natural lighting. The food is excellent! We have had their steak, chicken fried steak, pork shanks, balsamic chicken breast, and their appetizers are awesome too! My husband enjoyed a prickly pear margarita and I a Moscow mule. We haven't had anything we didn't enjoy. We highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!

This is a nice classy place with a vibrant feel. The menu may need to be updated so much to choose from but they have excellent food. The service is great oh the baked goods to die for. I did not get the famous sweeties but I have heard tales of them being the best cookie around... So, it is a good lunch option surly I will be back to try them again.

Staff should be on the look out for customers walking in with that... first timers "ok what now" look on their faces. It's obvious. Newcomers are going to enter, look for a hostess or a sign that says 'please seat yourself' and stand around looking lost between the door and the console where the sweeteners are and the entrance. You have to be a LOCAL to know that you order at the counter. Yep it's run like a fast food joint at lunch.
Ice tea is Phenomenal here!
