Salem Scuba is one of Oregon's oldest and most respected dive shops. Open Water Class is your ticket to the underwater world! This is how you get certified to go diving for the rest of your life, anywhere in the world (in conditions like you get certified in or better). Salem Scuba's PADI Open Water Diver class is the entry point into this amazing sport of diving!
After this class, you're certified to dive down to 60 feet deep, anywhere in the world (with conditions equal or better than your certification location).And your certification lasts for the rest of your life! Salem Scuba teaches an Open Water class each month of the year, with more pool and open water time than anyone.

Advanced Open Water Diver class fine tunes your dive skills and allows you to explore some of diving's top adventures. The Advanced Open Water Diver program offers you a structured program where you gain additional experience and skills under the direct guidance of a PADI professional. Salem Scuba's Advanced Open Water Diver program has something for everyone age 12 or older.
The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence. PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization).

Such a great place! Did my certification through here and love all of the staff and products they offer! The staff is super knowledgeable and fun to chat with and ask questions to. I LOVE how they plan great dive trips at amazing prices. Dea the owner is a great guy, you can truly tell how much he loves the sport and informing people about different equipment and giving knowledge.
Although you might be able to find things cheaper online these days it is so important to support local brick and mortar stores especially for hobby/specialty sports like this! We need local dive shops so there can continue

Outstanding service! I needed to rent a wetsuit, gloves & boots for a swift-water rescue training through my employer but I don't know anything about this type of gear. Dea, the owner, let me try out enough options so that I felt comfortable picking something to wear for my 8-hour training. He was patient & informative about fit & options. Although I'm not his standard clientele, have never gone scuba diving, & it was my first experience wriggling into a wetsuit, you'd never know it based on the high level of customer service Dea provided. If I ever need a wetsuit

These guys are awesome! My 18 year old son helped move a friend from California to Oregon. He needed to get certified within the week he was in Oregon because he was going on a road trip with his grandparents when he got home. They were meeting us in Galveston TX to get on a cruise ship to the Western Caribbean where we were going to be scuba diving. Mike worked with my son to get him certified. I am so grateful to Mike and the rest of the crew!! I will definitely recommend Salem Scuba & Travel to anyone!

So I live in Portland, so you'd think I would be writing a review for a Portland dive shop. Nope, they wouldn't return my calls or emails. So because I work for a living, I didn't have the time or desire to schlep around town trying to find a good instructor for my AOW cert for a trip I have coming up. Then I figured, hey Salem isn't that long of drive give Salem Scuba a call. Guess what, I'm glad Portland is Portlandy, because I never would have discovered Salem Scuba otherwise.

Blake is a great guy and shop owner. He's been in the scuba business for decades and knows the business backwards and forwards. Blake is honest to the core, would never even consider "stiffing" someone for his own benefit, and loves to help people without expectation of personal gain. His shop is very adequately stocked and Blake knows his stuff about scuba gear and is readily willing to assist newcomers with their selection of equipment, often offering a reasonable discount to help them get started.
