BallroomU's Private Lessons are 40 minutes of focused, prepared one-on-one (or couple) instruction. These lessons can be scheduled at your convenience, as our instructors have flexible schedules that can coordinate with yours. We specialize in American style Ballroom & Latin, as well as social Latin and various styles of Swing.

We have dedicated instructors, and we offer a wide range of dance styles. We offer many performance and competitive opportunities, as well as host a few local events of our own! Opened in 2016, BallroomU Dance Studio has been serving the triangle area with it's unique teaching style, state of the art studio, and amazing community of students. BallroomU is committed to giving you a custom-tailored dance education, comparable to none. Our private lessons are tailored to the dances and styling you want to learn.
Start dancing at BallroomU as a newcomer. Get introduced to some of the most popular social dances, meet other dancers like you, and find out what ballroom dancing is all about. Known as Bronze 3 & 4 at other studios, bachelor's students develop free movement around the floor, begin to understand technique, improve footwork, and get an introduction to styling.
Please note that nearly all of our photos on the website were taken by our students and staff! These are real people having real fun. We are incredibly grateful to have such multi-talented people at the studio! A special thank you to Andie Andrews, Jim Gu & Dave Campbell for some of these amazing snapshots!
BallroomU encourages students to make the proper accommodations to attend their lessons as scheduled. Students who cancel their private lesson no less than 24 hours in advance are assessed no penalty. Students are highly encouraged to reschedule at the time of cancellation. Students who cancel their private lesson within 24 hours of the scheduled start are assessed the full lesson fee.

Just had our first introductory lesson with Ashley. She was great and put us at ease. We are trying to get ready for a cruise next month...and to quote Smokey and the Bandit. Best studio around. Awesome teachers, always fun, friendly, a place to learn and experience a wide variety of dances. No judgement, no "sobiness." Different teaching methods all customized to your best way to learn. Absolutely love it and can't say enough about how great this has been for me. For all levels, from non-experienced to competition dancing, single or couples, all agegroups 💃. Always clean and safe. Dont know how I made it 47 yrs through life without dancing. Started late discovering my true passion but I'm hooked now. You definitely have to check BallroomU out. Austin and Whitney

My husband and I began dance lessons with BallroomU in preparation for a Great Gatsby party. Whitney knew exactly what we would need to learn to dance and have fun at this type of party, in addition to teaching us other dances. She is welcoming and relaxed, perfect for anyone who is hesitant or anxious about learning to dance in front of others.This studio exceeded our expectations and we will continue to be part of this wonderful community even after our Gatsby party!

I've been with BallroomU since it opened. These are people who are going to care about you first. You're never going to feel pressured to do things you're uncomfortable with and your dancing will move at your pace. They offer a lot of great classes, parties, and events to keep you engaged in your dancing and dancing with others at the studio with no pressure to spend.

I am what I would call a dance snob. Seriously, if a teacher wants to take a bunch of my money to show my what I think I already know, they better be able to back it up with some dance smack.... I am just a tough cookie.
I have been dancing over 12 years but have only had 3 long term instructors who I have really connected with and they were all in Massachusetts; until now.
Whitney (co-owner) has the ability and the presence of mind to see what I already know and build on it. Breaking down steps in a language that I understand is key and she nails it. She leverages her communication

I come to this location on Sundays for the Zumba class offered by Jeffrey. The location is great, there is ample parking and it is a perfect dance studio for classes. The music system is installed, there are restrooms and changing areas and lots of mirrors in the studio. The schedule offers ballroom dancing and other zumba classes during the week.

Austin and Whitney are amazing teachers, whether you're a beginning or advanced dancer. They have a very fun teaching style, and group classes are always entertaining. This is the most fun way possible to exercise! They offer affordable lesson packages, and opportunities to practice, party, perform and compete. This is definitely my favorite dance studio in the Triangle. Whether you come in as a couple or by yourself, you'll have fun learning different styles of dance.

I have been going to Ballroom U for about 6 months now and couldn't be happier. Whitney and Austin are 100% the real deal and WILL help you improve your dancing and give you the confidence to make you feel like you know what you are doing on the dance floor. They both are really passionate and want to see you succeed. They have a really good program to help you focus on 6-8 different dances and get you to a point that you can do them in a social setting. Do not hesitate to try them out. Come on a Tuesday night and try them out at their beginning class to see if it something you're interested in

Try the studio out any Tuesday night from 7:30 to 9:00 to experience a taste of how fun partner dancing can be! You will not regret letting loose and giving it a try...

I attend Zumba classes here sometimes. The studio is nice, spacious, and clean.. The temperature is always right. I like the mirrors and I'm always able to get a full body view of myself during cardio. That's important to me. If you get tired during the Zumba sweat sessions there's a few seats and benches in the back of the room. The sound system is great as well. I have no complaints about this facility...

If you have ever thought about learning to dance, this is the place to do it. Austin and Whitney are amazing dance instructors who make the lesson so much fun. I went in for my free first lesson and they had me dancing the basics of 4 different styles of dance! I couldn't believe how easy it was! Highly recommended!
