The HYC summer sailing program offers something for everyone age 5-18 and is open to the public! As a legacy member, Hampton yacht Club has always held a very special place in my heart. I remember walking the docks here at a very young age, holding my grandfathers' hand /Now I have the privilege of watching my father do the same with my young son!
The people who have sustained this club for so many years are not just members, but truly adherents to the club's yachting mission, and they have always supported the club with such evident passion. Over the more than 100 years of its history, the club remains the perfect fit for our extended family that enjoys being near, on or in the waters.

The Hampton Yacht Club Entertainment Committee is made up of volunteers who represent both power boaters and sailors. It is the intent of the Committee to provide a wide variety of programs and events for members of all ages.

After leading the Christopher Newport University Varsity Sailing Team eight years, head coach Maxwell Plarr has accepted the new Sailing Director position for Hampton Yacht Club in February of 2020. Coach Plarr was a three-time Team MVP and four-time All-Academic Sailor as an undergrad for Christopher Newport University.
A busy private club in downtown Hampton has positions available in the kitchen and front of the house. We are seeking experienced professionals. We are a multifaceted facility ranging from a pub-like atmosphere to fine dining, with a lot of different events throughout the year. We require at least 3 years' experience in the kitchen.
Sailing and boating are the core values of the Hampton Yacht Club. There are many ways you can get out on the water and enjoy these activities. Though I knew where the HYC was (having lived in nearby Norfolk for a number of year I'd never been in the clubhouse.
My bride and I were in Hampton for the Snowbird Rendezvous (boaters headed south for the winter).
The closing banquet was held there. The facilities had all of the flavor of a properly designed 1st class yacht club.
The meal...Oh my! The prime rib prepared by Chef Michael was the best we have ever had...anytime or anywhere else in my 70+ years!
The complete dinner, desert and presentation was nonpareil!
