This week of practice is an immersion into dharma practice, amidst the fullness of our lives. It is organized around the exploration of how sila (ethical conduct), samadhi (unified attention), and panna (wisdom) function in our interpersonal lives. We live in a web of mutuality - the interpersonal realm is where the rubber meets the road in our spiritual lives.

Others act like a magnet for the paramis (The ten perfections) and the kilesas (the ten afflictions), pulling both our goodness and our unconsciousness to the surface. How can we infuse the principles of the dharma into our relational lives? How can others serve as a mirror for our practice and self-understanding?
Services
Donations to IMC and IRC are tax-deductible. Insight Meditation Center of the Mid-Peninsula, parent organization of both IMC and IRC, is a 501(c)(3) organization, tax ID 77-0450217. Please indicate if funds are to go to IMC Teachers, IMC (including AudioDharma), or the Insight Retreat Center. If donating to more than one teacher or category, please specify teacher(s) or categories and amounts.
IMC does not require payment for any of our classes, events or website offerings. IMC is supported entirely by donations (Learn More). It is in the spirit of generosity that IMC continues a 2500-year-old Buddhist tradition of providing the teachings freely to all who are interested. We are inspired by how beautifully Buddhist practice develops when it does so in a field of generosity and gratitude; we are grateful for all the support we receive.
The Insight Meditation Center is a community-based, urban refuge for the teachings and practice of insight meditation, also known as mindfulness or vipassana meditation. We offer Buddhist teachings in clear, accessible and open-handed ways. Guided by Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella, IMC offers a broad range of programs and community activities.
The Insight Meditation Center (IMC) is dedicated to the study and practice of Buddhist ideals - mindfulness, ethics, compassion, loving-kindness, and liberation. At the heart of all IMC activities is the practice of Insight Meditation, sometimes called mindfulness or Vipassana meditation. Based on a 2500-year-old Buddhist teaching, this practice helps us to see more deeply and clearly into our lives.
Dana is the Pali word for giving. It is in the spirit of generosity that IMC continues a 2500-year-old Buddhist tradition of providing the teachings freely to all who are interested. IMC does not require payment for any of our classes, events or website offerings. IMC is entirely supported by donations.

It was frustrating to go there for my first time, all the way from south Brooklyn, and find out that the address published in their websites is not the correct address. Apparently they move a few months ago.
(But what they don’t forget is to ask for donations in their sophisticated web pages).
Please go to Google and make the necessary corrections.

Great teachers. Regular staff could loosen up a bit. Could do better regarding outreach to POC teachers and attendees and provide more accessible daylongs for those with lower incomes.

A wonderful place for learning about and practicing insight meditation. Lots of opportunities to take classes or to just go to "sits", which are usually 2-hour sessions that include guided and silent meditation, and a dharma talk, which is a presentation by a teacher about the principles of Buddhism, followed by a question and answer period.

Actually very nice meditation center. They do teach courses from time to time, in addition to regular meditation and you can apply for scholarship to attend one, if you need it. You don't have to stay for lecture after meditation if you have plans- you can just quietly leave. People are very nice. I recommend it. Plan to meditate for 45 minutes. If you are late, just quietly sit down and join everyone.

An amazing experience.
I am new to NY and had been out spiritual shopping past few weeks to find a place to continue my meditation practices. I can gladly say I found this place. I had a wonderful experience last Sat attending the day of silence with Rosemary and Sandra who were fabulous. I loved their simplicity and depth in teaching. The place is very warm and friendly. People are very welcoming and their management is more service oriented than profit making oriented. I look forward to visit this place more frequently.

Very nice meditation space in the insight tradition. Most of the Dhamma talks are what I would call "Buddhist Light" so nothing to intimidate you here. Very welcoming place and all levels are welcome. If your practice is more traditional and not as secular as the Insight program you might want to consider one of the many other places in NYC, but this is a very welcoming place so the choice is yours.
