The Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery opened in 1984. Our mission is to provide our patients specialized dentistry with exceptional and personalized care. Dr. Begley and Dr. Sheets provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery ranging from facial trauma, reconstructive jaw surgery, and dental implant surgery to extractions and wisdom tooth removal.
If you are wanting a full and confident smile or to regain the ability to eat and speak naturally, dental implants may be the advanced treatment option you are looking for. The specialists at The Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery have served Southeast Missouri for over 35 years promoting cutting-edge implant therapy.
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to develop in your mouth. These teeth, or third molars, appear around the ages of 18 to 22 - often referred to as the "Age of Wisdom". Sometimes the teeth may not need to be extracted if they are functional, pain free, or disease free. But many times the wisdom teeth become "impacted" because the teeth aren't able to break through the gums and can cause damage to other teeth.
Patients who are referred to our Cape Girardeau, MO oral surgery center face what is often an intimidating experience. We want all of our patients to know that we understand the uncertainty and apprehension that accompanies a pending surgical procedure. Our surgical team will help allay those concerns through discussions on pain management and by explaining what patients can expect from every step of their procedure.
Our office offers multiple forms of sedation and anesthesia for your comfort. Local anesthesia blocks pain receptors. Sedation can be used in conjunction with anesthesia to deliver maximum comfort throughout your procedure. Dr. Begley and Dr. Sheets will provide recommendations on which sedative and anesthesia options may work best for your procedure.

Very professional and thorough. Dr. Begley took time to explain all procedures and what to expect following the treatment. The staff was very polite and the overall atmosphere was upbeat and positive. Scheduling was simple and workable. They actually adjusted their own schedule to get me in even when they were fully booked. Highly recommend and will continue to use their services myself in the future

Dr. Begley and his staff did an outstanding job. I had a tooth extracted and dental implant placed. His staff were very friendly and professional. His nurse had to give me an IV before the procedure. The first time in my life I have ever had an IV that did not hurt nor did it even leave a bruise on my arm!! Would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them!
