Established in 1933, Baeseman's started as an army surplus store and quickly turned into one of Central Wisconsin's finest retailers of quality name brand clothing and shoes for the outdoorsman and worker alike. The Baeseman's small surplus store was located on Wausau's Clinton Street, along the river near 1st and Stewart Avenues.

Our footwear products are rugged, dependable, and some, still American-made - and we also specialize in wide widths and large sizes, stocking sizes up to 16.
From Baeseman's Shoes and Clothing's start as a small surplus store in the 30s, to a popular shoe store in the 60s, the new millennium has brought many improvements and additions to the Baeseman twins' dream. Every year we expand a little more and fill the shelves a little higher.
Here in Central Wisconsin, we have eight months of cold weather, so we have learned not to put too much stock in selling bathing suits, but rather into durable, warm and dry clothing and footwear.In fact, we regularly outfit groups of hunters heading up north for the big deer hunt as well as hunters heading out west for that trophy mount.

Purchased my Lamo shoes over a month ago just before vacation. I wore them every day for one month straight and absolutely LOVED them and still do. My feet are far from perfect and they were amazingly comfortable. I will be purchasing another pair (maybe two) in a different color. Thanks Baesemans!!

I have a situation to tell you about i walked into this store per referral of a friend I bought a very expensive pair of boots for work as I'm diabetic I stand on my feel for 10 hr. plug per day I'm am very hard on my boots Rossie I hope i spelled his name right and the young lady that works there helped me pick a pair of boots on big thing is they have to be slip resistant well about three weeks go by and it was like being on ice skates so i brought the boots back expecting them to tell me there is nothing they could do for me well boy o boy was i wrong on that one not only were they very nice
