Shaffer Buck Insurance has been a part of the Caldwell community and has been serving the people of the Treasure Valley for over a century. We are a 4th generation family owned business who values our local community and the Idaho families we have the pleasure to serve. Dan is an Idaho native and the third generation of his family to be at the helm of Shaffer Buck Insurance.
Charlie Shaffer arrived in Idaho at the age of 17. He graduated from the College of Idaho in 1928 and married Audrey Travis after she graduated in 1929. He spent a few years in the grocery business with his college classmate, Joe Albertson and then decided to go into the insurance business. He went to work for the M L Walker Real Estate and Insurance office in Caldwell, which had been started in 1906.

Aaron was very helpful with finding the right insurance company and the right plan to cover our house, cars, and bicycles. He was able to show us many options in the plans and made us feel comfortable on what we were choosing. I have had to change items on the policy and he has always been available to get those changes made right away. Aaron made us feel, as we were family and not just another client. I have known Dan Buck for over 20 years, and I have always been impressed with his professionalism, friendliness, and most of all, his personal integrity.
